Located 300 feet from the beach, this historic 1865 school house has been lovingly restored and turned into a cozy and comfortable seaside getaway.

Located in the center of an 18th century Swiss German settlement, this peaceful getaway is located on one of the most treasured beaches in Nova Scotia - a beautiful, half-mile long beach, which rarely has more than half a dozen people, even in the middle of the summer.

The space
As soon as you get out of your car, you will see the ocean and hear the surf.

This original 1865 school house features a queen bed in the sleeping loft (with ocean views from bed), and two twin beds on the main level.

Enjoy the propane fireplace, full kitchen, bath, and laundry while being on one of Nova Scotia's most beautiful beaches, and a short walk from another.

Nestled behind the historic settlers cemetery, the School House is located at the heart of Kingsburg - and with its two open ocean beaches (Hirtles and Kingsburg), three headlands, three swimming lakes, amphitheatre of hills and miles of hiking, it is deemed to be the most beautiful village setting on mainland Nova Scotia.

(It was featured on the cover of a summer LL Bean catalog for good reason).

This beach property is private, but located on the SAME property as our second, separate unit; The School House. Each have their own driveways, entrances, and amenities, but are connected by a short path making them perfect for a combined multi-family or friends getaway.

The School House sits at the heart of Kingsburg, the quintessential former fishing village on one of Nova Scotia's most beautiful beaches—Kingsburg Beach, and a short walk to Hirtle's Beach, renowned for its surf and sand. The village is comprised of Cape Code style houses and breathtaking views in every direction.

Kingsburg is a hiker's, cyclist's and surfer's paradise. There are fabulous hikes, scenic roads for cycling, and two incredible beaches. Lunenburg, the Unesco World Heritage Site and home to some great restaurants and galleries, is a 15 minute drive. Mahone Bay, home to the Three Sisters, is a half hour drive.

You'll definitely want a car here, since there are no shops in the village. If you need food, there's a delightful little deli and restaurant about 5km away.

This is really a place for downtime, relaxation, reading books, beach combing, swimming, and surfing.
