You drive through a small, beautiful village literally into the rice fields. The two cottages look directly onto the fields and Mount Agung and Mount Batur.

It will be a very special experience for you to stay in a wooden house - and when you sit on your veranda in the morning and watch the sun rise, you will be able to really feel Bali deep inside you.

The space
Rumah Richard consists of two wooden cottages on either side of the private pool and garden. Each cottage has its own bedroom and bathroom and a beautiful veranda overlooking the rice fields with the volcanoes in the background, a lovely place to spend time together and enjoy meals.

A separate little house at the end of the garden houses the kitchen. You can enjoy your days by the pool or look forward to going on all kinds of excursions.

We provide a small welcome pack of coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer to help you until your first purchase at the supermarket.

For those eager to explore the local area, Rumah Richard is ideally located. The surrounding village of Lodtunduh is renowned for its artistic heritage and tranquil atmosphere, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional Balinese life. Guests can visit nearby art galleries and workshops, participate in cultural ceremonies, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll through the rice paddies and rural landscapes.

Situated alongside the rice fields, it also offers an ideal setting for a leisurely morning walk where you can engage with locals and rice farmers while enjoying picturesque volcano views.

Just a short drive away, the bustling town of Ubud awaits with its array of attractions, including the Ubud Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, and vibrant Ubud Market, just to name a few. The area is also known for its wellness offerings, with numerous yoga studios, spas, and holistic centres available for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Rumah Richard is centrally located for all kinds of excursions - Ubud is only about 15 minutes away by scooter, the east coast (e.g. Sanur) about half an hour, and the west coast (e.g. Seminyak) about 45 minutes, depending on Bali traffic, of course.

We recommend renting a scooter – but if that’s not your preference, you can easily rely on services like Gojek or Grab, which not only offer convenient transport but also deliver a wide range of meals right to your door.

We’re more than happy to assist you with scooter rental and have it delivered to Rumah Richard, complete with helmets and a smartphone holder.

Guest access
Rumah Richard has its own lockable entrance. The two cottages, both lockable, are at your disposal, as well as the kitchen, the garden and the private pool.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: The regular check-in time is from 2 pm to 10 pm. We also have a safe lock for the key for late arrivals and in case of delays, but we MUST know your approximate arrival time so that we can prepare everything accordingly.

Our pool attendant, Kadek, visits twice a week - it is essential to provide him access to maintain the pool's beauty.

Two friendly cats, Susi and Nelly, live next door and may visit Rumah Richard. They’re curious and sweet, often stopping by to explore or say hello.

Their playful presence adds charm, but if you'd prefer they stay outside, please keep the doors closed.

They’re harmless and typically return home soon after visiting.

A large parking area for scooters and/or a car is available in front of Rumah Richard.
