Rosy Summers is a beautifully curated (not so tiny) tiny home tucked away in a community of heritage shacks in Tasmania’s secluded Lettes Bay. Originally multiple old miner’s shacks, it has been lovingly restored and transformed into the cosy, private, light filled shack that it is today.

Perfect for a girls getaway or entertaining couples, Rosy has a fireplace, workspace, claw foot tub and multiple outdoor living spaces.

The space
Rosy is a real surprise! When you walk through the barn-style front door and into the living area you are struck by its size, the vaulted ceiling and all-white interior.

There is a huge, linen-covered, comfy sofa for you to laze on in front of the wood burning fire.

Off the living area is a sunroom, which has a built in daybed. This is the perfect space for you to write, read or lay your yoga mat down and stretch.

We have a large, fully equipped galley kitchen, available for you to cook up a storm.

Enter the spacious bathroom through two rustic wooden doors. Soak in our glorious claw foot bath tub and admire the painted pressed-tin walls.

Enjoy the luxuries of the bedroom - a queen-sized bed covered with soft linens. There are double French doors leading onto a small deck area where you can enjoy a glimpse of the water.

You are surrounded by nature here at Rosy and we know you are going to love walking around the bay, into town along the waters edge or to Hogarth falls through mixed forest vegetation to the beautiful waterfall. If you’re lucky you may be able to see a local platypus.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy the whole shack and wander around the communal grounds of Lettes Bay. Rosy Summers sits tucked next to and behind neighbouring historic miners shacks with glimpses of the water.

Other things to note
There is no freestanding shower as we prefer to soak in our freestanding bath - We enjoy the serenity of the bay and therefore we don't have a television.

Parking is on site under the carport.

Rosy Summers may not suit guests with mobility issues because we have a freestanding bath.

Please note sometimes phone coverage can be limited. Telstra is the most reliable mobile service. We do have Wi-Fi in the shack but you will need to have all your essential information printed out when you are on the road.

The weather can be a little wild in winter and very occasionally the roads can affected, so if in doubt please check. It may be a good idea to consider travel insurance in case you need to cancel at short notice.

Neighborhood highlights

The serenity and close-knit community of neighbouring, historic miner shacks is what makes Lettes Bay so special. As is the constantly changing weather and enormous skies. The bay is more alive during the summer months but the winter is also very special. Rug up and get out for long walks, take a steam train ride or explore Macquarie Harbour and take a Gordon River Cruise.

For supplies, the local IGA (grocer) is a 10 minute drive. They stock most things you will need. The best coffee is to be found at the Coffee Shack and they sell good homecooked treats. There is a liquor store in Strahan, along with a petrol station and laundromat.

The West Coast Wilderness Railway is only a 5 minute drive from the cabin and the Gordon River Cruise terminal is less than a 10 minute drive.

Please note:
There is signed 'Private' road at the end of Lettes Bay road, not for guest access.
