Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
Perched on the river's edge, surrounded by trees and rhododendron, this quaint 2000 sq ft bungalow is a nature lover's sanctuary only 7 miles from downtown Asheville. A minimalist urban-boho vibe with OMG river views plus a well-equipped kitchen for stay-at-home meals, high-speed wifi, a work-from-home office/writing space (and bubbling falls just beneath the window), a TV room, and a "let's-never-leave-here" riverfront screened in porch.

The space
This is a brand new listing, and I just opened up the summer months now that my first guests are raving via text during their stay.

It's a special house for a special guest. From the commitment to provide and use only earth-friendly products to the little extras for work-from-home'rs..like circle lights (because Zoom), a laptop riser and the Eero trio for no-fail wifi signal... this house is part mindful retreat space, part work-when-you-have-to, and part nature-paradise. All within 7 miles of downtown and minutes from the Mountains-to-Sea trail, Nature Center, Blue Ridge Parkway and hike or bike trails.

I wanted the interior of the house to create a soul-nurturing and artful environment - so guests will discover - with delight - that this is not your typical "throw-some-old-furniture-down-and-call-it-a-rental" house.

Guest access
There is a driveway right next to the entrance for easy access and unloading. Uber and Lyft both come to this street. Whole Foods is just a 7 minute drive. And the local chain - Ingles Grocery - is a 5 minute drive. Local hikes, restaurants and dog walks are all within minutes as well.

Other things to note
This is a brand new listing, and it's filling up quickly. Please contact me directly with questions about long-term availability. For people who want a dedicated larger office space, the master bedroom can be converted into a complete office. Happy to help - but please reach out first!

Neighborhood highlights

Because the street is nestled alongside a river, the way out is all uphill. (Cyclists need to know these things!) There is no official public river access here, so privacy is ensured. If you bring a kayak, you would enter the river from the backyard, and find a way to drive yourself back to the house.

My work: Author, artist, entrepreneur, business coach.
Lives in Asheville, North Carolina
Hey - I'm Christine. I moved to Asheville in the early 90's to escape Northern Virginia and my post-college cubicle job. I wanted to be a songwriter...which, as you can guess, thrilled my parents to no end. Turns out, Asheville was the perfect place to be creative, get quiet, wake the heck up - and spend the next 15 years as a touring performing songwriter on my own record label. (Shared stages with everyone from The Beach Boys to John Mayer to Nanci Griffith - and made 7 CD's along the way.) In 2010, as a result of requests from so many creative entrepreneurial types (and being burnt out from 250 days a year on the road), I started a business coaching company here in Asheville. That became an online training resource, and we've hosted clients from all over the world at our retreats and events here. These days, I spend more time on Zoom than anything else. :) Hosting guests has been an unexpected joy and new passion for me. I love being able to provide all the amenities and experiences for travelers and vacationers and work-from-homers... mostly based on 15 years of staying in every hotel (ahem, and motel) chain and city across the U.S. I'm still learning so much. I love all things nature. Trees, birds, bears, mountains, dirt. I strive to contribute the creative and natural spirit of this precious area, even as it grows at a crazy pace.
