The space
We follow Airbnb's Nondiscrimination Policy and will not decline a reservation based on age, but please be aware that our accommodation is not childproofed and therefore not suitable for children aged three and under.
The 14-foot ceilings, large windows and two skylights create a light-filled, spacious and inviting ambiance. Built in 2019, Richmond Rose Cottage is equipped for short or long-term stays with all creature comforts including air conditioning, full kitchen, spacious private stone patio and large workstation/office area.
The bedroom/office has a queen-size bed. The daybed in the living room can be made up with one or two separate twin beds. PLEASE NOTE: If you are two people and need both the queen bed and the day bed, please book for three people so our housekeeper will have both beds ready for you.
A supplementary charge of $10 a night will be automatically added for the extra bed to cover additional laundry/housekeeping costs.
The office area in the bedroom is equipped for busy professionals. There are two desks (one with adjustable height for standing), a PC monitor, printer, a charging station, office supplies and excellent Wi-Fi.
With a click of a remote, you'll enjoy the warmth and beauty of the gas fireplace. Grab a vintage apron and cook up a feast on the gas range to enjoy at the dining table or al fresco. Load up the dishwasher and use the full-size washer and dryer.
Log into your favorite streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Max, Amazon Prime and YouTube, that you subscribe to, via the Roku TV. Listen to vintage LPs on the Victrola or strum a tune on the acoustical guitar. In summer, help yourself to tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries in our organic garden.
Guest access
Richmond Rose Cottage is a private and separate house located in back of the main house. It is a single level dwelling with ground floor access. Please note there are four steps down to access the front door of the cottage. After dark, sensor lights turn on to light your way.
Hosts live onsite in the separate, front main house. The houses face in opposite directions, which ensures privacy for our guests.
Guests will be provided with a code for the easy-to-use keypad lock. Guests can arrive and check in on their own schedule, any time after 3 PM.
There is plenty of street parking for one car, usually in front of the house. From the cottage, it's a one and a half block walk downhill (not steep) to all the offerings on SE Division Street.
Other things to note
There is plenty of space for guests to store their clothes and belongings. Guests have a 38" wide x 24" deep wardrobe with three dresser drawers, a shoe rack and a valet rack with hooks. The other wardrobe pictured is locked. For additional guest storage, there is a three-drawer dresser, a two-drawer nightstand and two file drawers.
Please note that we have a Ring security system with camera as you approach the cottage. For added security, there is also a Ring camera in front of the main house which faces the street.
We also provide a room safe for your valuables.
We aim to provide a relaxing, safe and comfortable stay. We follow Airbnb’s COVID-19 safety practices and the 5-step enhanced cleaning process. All bed linens and towels, including duvet covers, are washed in hot water (with unscented detergent) and freshly cleaned for every new guest.
