Neighborhood highlights
The actual address is 324 Hideout Hill road, but that will not show up on a map. Hideout Hill Road starts just past a little white house (1038 Upper Sawyers Road) that will show up on maps. The home is a quarter mile up a moderately steep and well-maintained gravel road that is easily accessible with unmodified 2 wheel drive vehicles. We have only had issues with with lowered vehicles, very heavy motorcycles or very extreme weather (heavy snow or ice). Stay to the right at the fork and up the hill. We are located off the “Moonshiner 28” near Stecoah, 4 miles to the Appalachian trail, 5 miles to Fontana Lake, 12 miles to the Tsali Recreation Area, 12 miles to Lake Santeelah and the Cherohala Skyway, 18 miles to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, 20 miles to the “Tail of the Dragon” and 35 miles to Cherokee and the entrances to Smokey mountain National park and the start of the Blue ridge Parkway. If you’re looking for quaint shops and restaurants you can venture to nearby Robbinsville or Bryson city. The home and Robbinsville is a dry county so you can head over towards Bryson City where there are multiple breweries and grocery stores.
