Built in 1964, Purple Moonlight Ranch is a peaceful vintage paradise. Every corner of this pool house is designed to emulate the 60s and 70s in an authentic way, with stylish modern amenities for your comfort. Explore cozy themed rooms in a truly unique house that blends vintage designs with the magical, serene landscape of the desert.

The space
Our home is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Joshua Tree, the house is located in a peaceful neighborhood on nearly 4 acres of property. It is spacious with 2 bedrooms + 3 bathrooms, plus so many more rooms to explore!

★ Outdoors
Relax by the pool surrounded by olive, eucalyptus, and Joshua trees, and spend the evening stargazing in the hot tub or in the outdoor fireside lounge. The backyard is fenced for privacy.

***Please note*** the pool is heated with solar panels between late May-late September. During the summer months, the pool typically reaches a temperature between 70-85 degrees (depending on the outside air temp). If you are interested in heating it outside of these months, please inquire for rates. The hot tub is always set to a cozy 104 degrees.

★ Bedroom 1
A tropical paradise complete with a 1970s leopard headboard w/ organic queen mattress, hand painted mural, and giant peacock chair. Get lost in the vintage psychedelic wallpaper and wall-to-wall cozy shag carpet! Enjoy the beautiful desert landscape from your window.

★ Bedroom 2
Be transported to another planet! This room features a custom headboard w/ organic queen mattress, murals, and groovy 1970s furniture to create an otherworldly landscape. Attached en-suite bathroom with shower and views of the pool and desert landscape.

★ Living Room
The main living room features an incredible 1970s couch that can be folded down into a giant circular bed, comfortably sleeping 2 people (let us know if you need a tutorial on how to unfold it!). Relax surrounded by vintage posters, a spinning mushroom-shaped stool, and bluetooth speakers.

★ Den
The media room boasts an original working 1972 pinball machine, 65” flatscreen tv with Roku (no login provided), and record player. Lounge and listen to records for hours, or play one of our vintage board games! This room has an en-suite bathroom with a brand new shower.

★ Sunroom
Bask in the best light in the house in our sunroom while enjoying your morning coffee overlooking the backyard and pool.

★ Kitchen
Our kitchen has brand-new appliances for a retro look with modern comfort! Large fridge, dishwasher, oven, stove, coffee maker, and toaster are all available for use, plus cooking necessities.

► 10 minutes to Downtown Joshua Tree and the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor's Center
► 18 minutes to Pioneertown
► <10 minutes to a multitude of shops and restaurants in Yucca Valley

Please note there is no garage access. The fireplace in the living room is currently not available for guest use.

Other things to note
Most items in the house are vintage and irreplaceable. Please be aware of this and respect the space while you enjoy your stay. Many of our items have survived 50+ years – let’s ensure they are around for many more years to come!

Parties and extra guests are not allowed. No professional photo/video shoots without prior permission. Due to the vintage items, pets are not allowed and we ask that you are mindful of children.

When available, we do offer early check in & late check out when prearranged the fee is $50/hr. When not prearranged the late check out fee is $100/hr to cover a larger emergency cleaning team so we can meet the expectations of the guest checking in after you.

HEATING POOL
The pool can be heated with 24 hours notice for an additional fee. Please reach out prior to your stay if you would like to heat it.

When planning travel, I love to search for unique, beautiful, and kitschy accommodations. Purple Moonlight Ranch is an amalgamation of inspiration I've found in themed hotels, 1970s interior design books, films, and all things vintage. I'm a lover of color – nothing bores me more than an all-grey interior. I love to travel around the globe to beautiful places, and Joshua Tree is one of my absolute favorites.
