An ideal location for exploring the area, the independent and private bedroom is set in a rural garden of olive trees, mandarins, almonds, grapes, and figs, surrounded by nature with mountain views of Serra da Gardunha and Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in Portugal.

A queen-size bed, quality linen + bathroom & kitchenette. Hot shower, mini-fridge, mini stove ensure you can make the most of your stay.

The space
Set on a rural scenic private plot of 15.000m2, the centenary stone house and its annex with panoramic views of Serra da Gardunha and Serra da Estrela, include living off-grid which means the electricity is provided by solar panels and the water comes from 2 wells and a water hole that has been recently done.

We grow our own vegetables, the land is fertile and self-maintaining, full of fruit trees such as oranges, apples, pears, almonds, figs, olives, pomegranates, and different types of grapes. A vast array of herbs like oregano, salvia, rosemary, mint, and others are seasonally available for your own use.

The outdoors is always blooming with many kinds of plants and flowers. You have a good-sized garden table and seating area for you to relax, eat or work outdoors in total privacy.

For like-minded people is good to share that an agroforestry project will come to form very soon while a permaculture design system is already in formation.

The area is a lovely spot to explore but own transport is convenient. Easy access to the train station, village shops, bakery, and cafes. (around 2km)

Whoever wants to have a peaceful and quiet getaway far from urban life, in a very simple, cozy, and calm environment at the bottom of the mountains, it's the perfect place to be.

Living Off-Grid - We call the attention of our guests to understand this concept and avoid using many electric appliances at the same time.

In any case, we have a generator as a backup system to keep the property powered 24/7.

Vale de Prazeres, Castelo Branco, Portugal

Mountain views and serenity rule the land. We have no neighbors overlooking the property. 2km walk to the local cafes and grocery shop which is a bit limited. The little town is very simple, quiet, and low profile. We recommend making your shopping in Fundão or Castelo Branco.
