Madeira is known as "The Pearl of the Atlantic" or "Island of eternal spring" for its flowers, impressive mountains and walks almost touching the clouds to reach its highest peaks, a unique wine, an amazing airport over the sea as well as its famous "levadas" which are water channels with a gentle slope originally created to transport water from the north of the island and is one of the main tourist attractions of the island because it offers an experience with magnificent views and direct contact with nature. Simply put, welcome to the Hawaii of Europe! It's truly an amazing island, especially for those who don't suffer from vertigo.
Apartment located in a quiet and privileged area because it is in a strategic point to easily travel to any part of the island. (Entrances and exits very close to the main highway, streets and avenues. Walking access, private and public transportation, and taxis.
Located in São Pedro, which since 1595 became the main seat of the Madeira Bourgeoisie.
For those who appreciate art, the Church of São Pedro, (16th century), is an essential stop to appreciate the architectural richness of the 16th and 18th centuries. Then there is the Funchal Municipal Museum or the Natural History Museum, located in an urban palace of Baroque architecture, where the Counts of Carvalhal lived in the 19th century.
The journey through history continues with a stop at the Federico de Freitas House Museum, with Romanesque civil architecture, and the Quinta das Cruzes Museum, located almost in front of my apartment in a Baroque-style civil architecture estate, where Funchal's second donated Captain lived.
You will also have nearby and I recommend that you visit the Fort of São João Baptista, a fortress with beautiful views of Funchal, perhaps equal to those that I offer you from the balconies of my house that will be like your house.
Nearby you could also visit the Santa Clara Convent, built in the late 16th century by the second captain of Madeira, João Gonçalves da Câmara. It's a valuable heritage site to see and experience.
