Set in the heart of Colchester’s historic downtown Village District and overlooking the Town Green, The O’Connell House B&B is an 1840 Greek Revival that has been thoughtfully renovated with historic touches and modern hospitality.

The space
This two-room suite features a traditional bedroom with one Queen bed, armoire wardrobe and Smart TV on one side; and a lockable pocket door to the separate sitting room with couch/Full Murphy bed, a second television, and a private full bath with stand-up shower. Windows overlook the backyard.

For parties of 3-4, the suite comes with the Full bed set up. For parties of 1-2, the suite comes with the couch set up, unless requested otherwise.

Murphy bed features a Full size 10" Gel-Max Memory Foam Mattress with four comfort density memory foam layers, including a gel-infused cooling top layer.

The O’Connell House offers four unique guest rooms that can accommodate up to 12 guests, as well as communal space on the main floor in our Dining Room, Drawing Room and wrap around front porch overlooking the Town Green.

*We serve a continental breakfast every morning, available at our coffee bar for all overnight guests.

Guest access
All guests at The O'Connell House have shared access to the wrap around front porch, side porch, main floor half bath, laundry, Dining Room and Drawing Room (nicknamed the 'History Room') - a formal sitting room with marble fireplace, baby grand piano, card table; and pictures and prints highlighting national, state and local historical events and points of interest.

During your stay
Brian and Jean or Stephanie are on-site or nearby to assist with anything you may need during your stay.

Other things to note
Check-in is 3pm and checkout is 10am. We are sometimes able to accommodate alternate times if requested in advance.

Requests for early check-in and/or late checkout are considered in the order they are received. If you would prefer a check-in time before 3pm and/or a checkout after 10am, please send us a note at time of booking. We will let you know if we can accommodate your request 72-24hours before your check-in date.

In some instances an additional fee may apply.
