Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
The space is a cozy studio located just 6 blocks from the sand. Straight down Voltaire St. you will find restaurants, shopping, a brewery, and bars, ending at world-famous Dog Beach, one of just a handful of off-leash dog parks in San Diego. A few blocks farther south is Newport Ave. which is the main strip of Ocean Beach, home to even more bars, restaurants, and funky shops to explore. It's a very walkable town with a lot going on.

The space
This is a 300 sq. ft studio with a full fridge, countertop Ninja oven/air fryer, and electric cooktop. There is a small patio area outside with chairs. With your private entrance, you will see very little of us but we are close if you need anything. There is a lot of food and shopping within walking distance on Voltaire and Newport Ave. We love our town and we love our little area so we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we have come to love living in it. With that in mind please be respectful of our neighbors: no smoking, no loud music, and quiet time begins at 10 pm.

We have some basic beach items for your use: beach chairs, a soft top surfboard, a boogie board or two, beach towels, and an umbrella. If you use them please rinse and return them to where you found them.

We do welcome well-behaved dogs, but please be sure they are up to date on all shots and flea medications. There is no direct access to anywhere for them to do their business so you'll need to walk into the neighborhood for that.

Guest access
Access is via the alley behind the building. It is well-lit and has a locked gate to enter through. Once inside the fence, you'll have access to the studio entrance which has its own locked door with a code.

Other things to note
We have two friendly dogs (Luna & Joey) but they may bark at strangers to say hello. Keep the fence gate between the front and studio areas closed so they can't come visit. Use the alley gate to enter and exit to avoid disturbing the other tenants onsite. Our family lives on the premises in the front house, 2 children (13 and 16 yo), and 2 dogs who are fenced in. There is also a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment above the studio with 2 long-term tenants.

Please note that all of Ocean Beach is in the flight path for San Diego International Airport and planes take off starting at 6:30 am and end at 11:00 pm. It’s pretty quiet in the studio with the windows closed. Also of note is on Monday mornings the City picks up trash in the alley starting around 7:00am which can be noisy for a few minutes as they work their way by the house.

Please no parking in front of the building against the garages, those belong to our neighbors. There is plenty of free street parking within a block or two of the space. Due to a new CA law that just took effect in 2025 (AB 413) make sure you don’t park your vehicle within 20’ of a crosswalk. A pic will be sent along with the check-in instructions that helps explain this.
