Dedicated workspace

A common area with wifi that’s well-suited for working.
Our cozy, glamping school bus offers a unique, but very comfortable accommodation all year round (except freezing temperatures).

The schoolie features bamboo flooring, a very comfortable queen-sized mattress along with all the essentials, including 2 convection hot plates, toaster oven, magic bullet and a small fridge with a freezer.

There is a moveable desk and a comfy loveseat facing the ocean view. There is room for a young child to sleep on the loveseat. Note: ceiling height is 5’10”.

The space
How often do you get the opportunity to stay in a beautifully converted school bus?

It's got a real couch facing the ocean view. The electric oil filled heater is great for for colder weather. The queen-size bed has lots of storage space underneath it. The kitchen is fully equipped. The setting is stunning with an ocean view. It's within the wifi range of the house, yet it's in a private setting nestled up near our fabulous moss-covered magic energy rock. What more could you want?

It even has a sit-down shower with a private window and an odourless, low maintenance, 'Nature’s Head' composting toilet with a forest view.

NOTE: Guests staying less than a week are required to bring their own QUEEN-SIZE sheets, and pillowcases. We provide the pillows and duvet as well as towels and dishwashing cloths and drying towels. Please bring your own bedding for a child if they will be sleeping on the couch.

Guest access
Guests can explore our property, including our orchard area, ponds, Loop Trail through the woods, our organic gardens, and even our hens and rabbits.

NOTE: Our dogs roam freely around our house. If you want to see our ocean view and visit our hens and rabbits, it’s best if you leave your dog in your listing or car as we’re not always around to supervise them.

Other things to note
This is a great place to come where you have freedom to live without the restrictions of city living.

You need a vehicle, motorcycle, e-bike or bicycle to access our listings as convenient public transportation is not available beyond Sechelt.

This is for NON-smokers ONLY. We both have strong allergies to smoke.

While we welcome well-behaved pets, we only accept ONE pet a time and we do NOT accept intact male dogs. If you’re coming with a small child, there isn’t enough space for a dog.

Also, please note that you will be responsible for any costs incurred to fix any damage caused by your pet. Dogs must be on a leash and with you at all times and you must clean up after them. You will need to bring clean blankets to cover the bed and couch if you come with pets but we don't allow pets on the couch or bed, unless they are in a pet bed. Dogs must be dry to sleep on the bamboo floors.

For guests staying a week or longer, bedding and laundry facilities are available.

The kitchen is fully functional and has electricity. The sit-down shower is small but is fully functional with hot water and a frosted window. The toilet is the 'famous' Nature's Head, composting toilet. It is very easy to use and is odourless.

Ceiling height is about 5’10”.

Neighborhood highlights

We live in a gorgeous semi-rural area halfway between Sechelt and Madeira Park, both of which are only 20 minutes away by car. We are up on a mountain with wonderful views of the ocean, islands, and Vancouver Island. Properties on our street are all 10 acres in size.

In addition to this listing, we have a luxury tent trailer nestled in the woods, a glamping wall tent, with a large, private deck, an RV with a large private deck and an ocean view, a semi off-grid micro cabin in the woods and several furnished campsites, all on decks with picnic tables.

We are developing the property for permaculture and have so far built a greenhouse, planted a lavender garden with several varieties, cleared and planted a small orchard, created several small ponds, excavated a large pond, landscaped a recreational area and built a very productive raised bed garden area. We raise laying hens and rabbits.

We are walking distance to trailheads, including Homesite Creek, with beautiful waterfalls.

Meet your hosts

Where I went to school: McGill, Dalhousie and Queen's University
My work: Entrepreneur, Coach
Originally from Montreal, I moved to BC in 1988 and I absolutely love it here. In 2017, my partner, Kito (originally from Brazil), and I moved to BC's Sunshine Coast, where the energy is awesome, nature is abundant, people are friendly and the pace of life calm and very healing. Our home and 10-acre property is our haven. We enjoy traveling, nature, photography, art, gardening, eating healthy foods, building, learning new things, and spending time with family and friends. We're adventurous and young-at-heart and we're actively building a lifestyle that we love. Both Kito and I have owned several businesses and have done lots of business consulting and life coaching over the years. I love the freedom and flexibility that working for myself has given me. Airbnb is a big part of my life as I've been a Superhost for many years now; we also enjoy Airbnb when we travel. It's a wonderful way to experience new places and meet interesting and diverse people. My life motto is: "Life is supposed to be FUN!" I am a big believer in the Law of Attraction and I have a very positive outlook on life.
