Neighborhood highlights

Marpissa is one of the most beautiful villages in Paros. It is located at the top of a small hill, at the center of which there is the dominating church. It is a beautifully kept village that has been characterized as a traditional settlement featuring immaculately clean alleys, whitewashed single-story dwellings and elegant two-story houses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries and beautifully paved alleys. The village is home of Perantinos Sculpture Museum and a Folklore Museum. If planning a holiday in August, do consider the Marpissa Routes a three-day festival, taking place in the last days of August, offering thematic forays and highlights of special interest across the settlement. Emphasis is placed on architecture, folklore, music, visual arts and the environment. At the entrance of the village, there are four characteristic windmills of Paros which is also the starting point of a path that leads to the monastery of Agios Antonios (St. Anthony). The view from the monastery is wonderful. The Aegean Sea lies at your feet.
