Newton Cottage is one of the original buildings in Newton, a picturesque village in the heart of Mumbles. It is warm, cosy, and ideally situated for exploring the Gower. It is within 10 minutes walk of the restaurants and bars on the Mumbles Mile and walking distance to the beautiful Langland (15mins) and Caswell (20mins) beaches. The cottage has a good size and very private southwest facing garden, ideal for sitting out in the sun!

The space
- Master Bedroom: Superking size and very comfortable (see our reviews!) bed in the master bedroom.
- 2nd Bedroom: 2 comfortable (firm) single beds
- Super-fast private dedicated fibre broadband, (average speed 145Mbs). (We lived and worked from here during lockdown, both of us simultaneously uploading videos, zoom, streaming etc. no problem.)

For larger groups, please note, We also have a separate detached Tiny House behind the property, fenced in its own garden, available to rent as well. Please message us if interested as we are unable to insert the links

Guest access
There is some free on street parking is available on Newton road. The parking space directly in front of the house is ‘Resident permit’ only, and the Free parking for everyone starts one door down (and also a few doors up).
We can arrange a ‘Visitor parking permit’ on your behalf, the council charges £25 per week and the application must be made by us in advance, which we are happy to do on request.

If there is no parking available on the road (eg during peak school holidays) you can park a bit further down the hill, on the steep bit of Newton Road (drive down and turn left down the hill, following Newton Road).

Other things to note
Pets are welcome, but please respect our home and do not leave pets unattended and do not let them go on the couch or any furniture.
All mess needs to be cleaned up or there may be a surcharge for someone to come clean it away.

Neighborhood highlights

Great corner shop (Newton News open from 7AM every day) and local butchery ('Woollacotts') are both 2 minutes down the road.
Down the road is Mumbles with a huge variety of cafes, shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and pubs.
Down the other way is Langland Bay, which has a great restaurant called 'Langland's Brasserie' with beautiful views of the bay; there is also a Surfside Cafe on the beach.
For the best pub lunch - by far - I recommend The Plough & Harrow in Murton (30 min walk or 5 mins by car).

Hi, I am Maggie, a long time Airbnb host since 2012 when it first started! I teach yoga and my husband runs safaris in Southern Africa. We met while working on infrastructure projects as project managers. We love living in the Gower as there is so much nature, sports and culture going on whatever you are interested in, and it is such a beautiful & friendly part of the world. We have 2 little kids and we go on a lot of walks exploring the various beaches in the Gower. We love the outdoors, surfing, travelling, and making wonderful new connections with people from all over the world. Hope to meet you soon!
