Enjoy our home when we're not there (we manage and maintain Moondance ourselves). Hike, Bike, Golf, Fish, Canoe, Swim, Pickleball and Relax with your family, friends and pets. Moondance is located between Dupont Forest, Jones Gap & Caesars Head (Mountain Bridge) Pisgah Forest and only 12 minutes from the charming town of Brevard, NC including Brevard College and Brevard Music Center. Only 45 minutes from both Asheville and Greenville-Spartanburg Airports.

The space
Soak your tired muscles in the 5-6-person hot tub after a day of hiking/biking and enjoy the nature and wildlife that thrive in the 1,000-acre Sherwood Forest, an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Comfy new beds (on the second floor) await you with soft cotton sheets and plenty of pillows (flannel sheets in the winter). The eat-in kitchen is fully outfitted and the separate dining room will seat your entire group, or enjoy your meals on the large private deck.

Moondance features not just a hot tub but stone fireplace, gas grill, bike washing station, 3-in-1 combination bumper pool table (table, poker table and bumper pool), ping pong table (in garage) and a basketball hoop. High speed Wifi and Roku TV is available (no cable). And of course, rocking chairs.

Fall in love with the magic of Sherwood Forest and enjoy all it has to offer. Take a 4 minute walk to Trout Lake to swim, canoe and keep what you catch (no license needed) or just sit and listen to the frogs. This enchanting area includes more than 20 miles of hiking trails with meandering streams and gentle waterfalls. Explore and see if you can find the old moonshine stills! Enjoy swimming and fishing on five lakes, a heated junior Olympic pool (Memorial Day weekend - end of summer), play tennis (two rackets & balls), Pickleball and golf on a Par 3 course (set of clubs in the garage) where the hazards include wildflower beds and an occasional llama caddy. No gates, no worries, just peace and privacy.

The concrete driveway is steep but 4WD is not needed (I drive a Camry). You can pull right up to the house and park in the garage if you'd like. There is on-site parking for five vehicles including a trailer.

Children are always welcome, but the house is not 'child proof' for toddlers (e.g. no gate on the stairway, no outlet covers, cleaning supplies in the cupboards).

Guests may enjoy the full use of the home and the Sherwood Forest amenitites. Early/late checkout is often available on request depending on availability, contact us first.

Other things to note
There are some spices, condiments, and small amounts of sugar, flour and oil. A couple of backpacks are in the laundry room along with old towels for dirty bikes and dogs. If your dog sleeps with you, please cover the bed with one of the old sheets in the laundry room. Everything in the house is for your use except for items in a supply closet.
