The space
We have curated this home to be a retreat, a spa vacation, but also "a home away from home." In that way it's meant to be beautiful, enchanting and comfortable all at the same time.
From the fully stocked kitchen, to the comfortable living room with breathtaking view of the backyard redwood forest, to the meticulously cared for bedrooms with quality mattresses, linens and pillows, to the one of kind outdoor spa, we're confident the Mendocino Tree House will check all your boxes and hopefully we'll add you to our family of guests for years to come.
The 2 bed/2 bath house comfortably accommodates a couple, a group of friends or a family of 4-6 traveling together. For those larger groups, there are auto inflating/deflating air mattresses with sheet sets in each of the bedroom closets. Perfect for friend groups and families with children/teens. The house is styled to be inspiring yet cozy and approachable.
The kitchen can be used as simply as storing leftovers to cooking a full meal with a full setting of dinnerware, silverware and glassware. There's one of kind art situated throughout the house from the owner's personal collection and a workspace in the master bedroom for those that need to "catch up" while away. The indoor fireplace is very straight forward - there's an easy on/off switch right on the front panel.
Where we know you're going to spend A LOT of your time though is outside. While we've meticulously designed the inside of the house, as much if not more attention, was placed on the outside. From the backyard egg chair porch swings at the end of the meandering walkways by the fruit trees, to the lounging and catching up on the day's events or reminiscing of old times by the fire pit, to sweating/washing away life's stress in the outdoor spa, you will surely leave the Mendocino Tree House feeling revived and renewed.

You will have full access to the entire house and the 1.35 acres the house sits within. The backyard is fully fenced in as well.

We want you to feel at home, while you're away from home, but to respect our home and our neighbors we do have a few simple asks below.

PET POLICY:
At Mendocino Tree House, we understand that pets are family, which is why we gladly welcome your furry companion to join you on your adventure. One well behaved dog, max weight limit of 40 lbs, is permitted for an additional fee of $100/stay. You MUST request to bring your dog when booking.
In our efforts to maintain a pristine and comfortable environment for all guests, we also enforce a STRICT rule of NO PETS ON FURNITURE OR BEDS. This simple courtesy ensures that everyone can enjoy the elevated experience we strive to provide over time. If our cleaning staff finds hair on the furniture or in the bed linens, you will be charged an additional $500 cleaning fee. Additionally, for the safety and well-being of your pet and our property, we require that pets are not left unattended at the house. While our backyard is fully enclosed, we know some furry friends have a "Houdini" skill, and so we would also require that you don't leave your pet(s) unattended in the yard as well (also helps to ensure no waste is missed by accident).
We do require that you clean up your pet's waste as well - again, it's simple courtesy. A black aluminum waste bin, with supplied waste bags, is located right past the gate next to the front door, directly across from the grill - please ensure the waste is bagged. If our staff has to clean up after your pet, you will be charged an additional $100 cleaning fee.

NO PARTY POLICY:
While we love to gather, and welcome you to do so with your fellow travelers that you've submitted as your group, there are no parties allowed otherwise. We do strictly monitor noise.
NO SMOKING POLICY:
We all have different habits when it comes to how we honor our bodies, but simply put, there is ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING/VAPING of tobacco or marijuana in our house. We also enforce a strict no smoking policy outside as butts, joints etc... create a significant fire risk, and smoke, even from bongs, pipes etc.. can waft into the house upon re-entering or travel in with you on clothing etc.. and leave a lingering smell. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an additional $1000 cleaning fee if a smoke smell is found, and additional fees may apply for any damage caused. If you must vape, you can do so outside ONLY.
WILDLIFE/TRASH:
Mendocino has a thriving wildlife population and so with that said, do not leave trash/food outside or in your vehicle. If you need to remove trash from the house, you will find the large garbage and recycling bins in the carport behind the double doors furthest from the front door. Ensure all waste items are in a tied bag - no loose garbage. These doors are kept locked, to keep wildlife out - the code is 987. Please make sure the latch pin and lock are both re-engaged if you do access.
VANDALISM POLICY:
ABSOLUTELY NO carving or marking of any trees, poles or any other structures on the property. If our staff finds any vandalism you will be charged a $1000 fine. A 5 Star review is a perfect way to "leave your mark!"
SEPTIC SYSTEM:
The home operates on a septic system which is robust, but to keep it that way, please refrain from flushing anything down the toilet other than toilet paper.
INSURANCE & WARRANTY:
Now for the legal jargon... Booking a stay with us immediately assumes you've both read and expressly agree:
Occupants personal property, including vehicles, are not insured by Owner against loss or damage due to fire, theft, vandalism, rain, water, criminal or negligent acts of others, or any other cause. Owner does not insure against personal injury to Occupants due to any reason other than the condition of the Premises. Owner recommends that Occupants carry or obtain insurance to protect Occupants and personal property from any loss or damage. Occupants agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Owner and Owners Representatives from all claims, disputes, litigation, judgements, cost and attorney fees resulting from loss, damage or injury to Occupants and Occupant's personal property.
