Marahuyo (v., inf. be induced, persuaded, attracted, or enchanted) offers an escape from the usual tourist destinations in Palawan, only 1 hour away from El Nido. It's an off-grid, private and secluded sanctuary that offers an off-the-beaten-path accommodation, perfect for travelers looking for rest and relaxation, far away from the humdrum of crowds.

The space
Mayumi cabin is a romantic space, made for two, and has a large porch; furnished with an outdoor dining place, coffee nook, hammocks, and a wonderful view of and private access to the beach; you can spend your time relaxing, reading books, listening to music, writing your future bestselling novel, and, most especially, enjoying the pristine, white waters of Sader.

Guest access
Mayumi cabin has a large, private porch, toilet and outdoor shower. A common outdoor kitchen provides basic cooking ingredients and common kitchen utensils, including a large grill.

- Drinking water is provided for guests

Other things to note
Unplug and enjoy a digital detox in our tropical paradise as network signal is unavailable at Marahuyo. Paraiso Roberto (Sader beach) is a 9-minute walk from the site where you can connect to either Smart or Globe networks. A petrol station, which is a 6-minute walk, also provides wifi access for a small fee.

Sand Flies (niknik in Tagalog) are endemic in Palawan. Amihan's strong winds prevent sand flies and other insects from attacking people. However, we strongly recommend that you still bring and use insect repellant when you go to the beach. If you are allergic to insect bites and have been bitten, you may use antihistamine medication (citirizine, claritine, allerga) and topical steroidal cream (any clobetasol cream) to reduce the itch and irritation. You may purchase these medications at the pharmacy located at the Taytay Public Market.

We are solar-powered
In our efforts to be as green as possible and share the Marahuyo experience in the absence of commercial electrical services, our cabin is powered by a solar panel and a single battery, the charge of which can get affected when the weather is especially bad. During such occasions when the battery did not charge enough or the solar system encounters an issue, a generator will be provided, for free, from 6 pm to 10 pm for the guests' convenience.
We would like to ask for your help in conserving energy and turning off lights and other electronic devices when not in use. Solar lights are placed everywhere on the property. We’ve also provided a rechargeable lamp in the cabin to take with you and light your way to the firepit, outdoor kitchen, and toilet/shower during the evening.

Kitesurfers' dream
Marahuyo is the perfect spot for kitesurfing. This is precisely how we discovered the place and the reason why we have been coming back to the spot for the last seven years! As a beginner, you’ll appreciate the wide and shallow beach for launching and landing. As a semi-pro or professional, you can enjoy the wind and waves all to yourself.

Marahuyo is 1 hour away from El Nido, 30 minutes away from Taytay proper, and is saddled between the small fishing villages of Sader and Amugis. Family-owned retail stores (sari-sari stores) provide basic grocery items and seasonal tropical fruits, and fresh fish can be purchased from the locals.
