Modern, open plan 4 bedroom house with enormous deck for viewing hills of Kampala, Lake Victoria or star gazing. Ideal for families or groups with ample living space and play area for children, also lovely ambiance for a couple. Additional family pool and lounge deck recently added to provide a little oasis for relaxation.
The space
This spacious living, dining room and kitchen open up with double doors to a veranda overlooking Kampala hills and Lake Victoria. Enjoy the kitchen space with eating at the kitchen island, or the extra-long dining room table, or the seating options outside. The kitchen is fully stocked with all equipment for baking and cooking. The living room has a large L-shaped sofa and several chairs for lounging and chatting. We do not have a TV, and want to provide a relaxing and connecting space for visitors. Several artwork and furniture pieces are featured by local artists/designers at Muti Interiors with Ugandan wood and craftsmanship. The house is decorated with many plants and cacti to enhance the lush tropical feel of the equator. A children's play area is set up under the stairs with puzzles, books, games, and art supplies. We have a few kids bikes/scooters which can be used to whizz around the open areas and the veranda outside. A trampoline, tetherball and badminton are in the yard for everyone to enjoy. Several trusted nannies used by our family can be contacted should you need an occasional babysitter.
A purified drinking water filtration system is provided (tap water is not drinkable in Uganda). The beds are equipped with mosquito nets for nighttime use.

The house is located about 7-minute drive from Lubowa (on the outskirts of Kampala) with access to grocery store, pizzeria and cafe. The road is paved/tarmacked until the last 1 kilometer, which is a dirt road on a hill. There is easy to access the new highways, linking to Munyonyo Resort and Lake Victoria Serena, the airport, and Kampala city. Eco-friendly with rainwater harvesting and designed for cooling during the daytime with cross-breeze and airflow. We have an eco-friendly solar water heater that provides hot water for showers. Several trusted local taxi drivers who know our house location are ready to accommodate your travel needs.

Where you’ll be

Our house is located through a little village type setting, which gives a rural feel, yet being close enough to get to Kampala. The house is about a 5-7 minute drive from Lubowa where there are a few restaurants, supermarket and International School of Uganda. It is also about a 15 minute drive on the new highway to Speke Resort Munyonyo.
