You or your group can rent the entire Joshua Tree Container Resort and Spa, clothing optional: 5 beds, pool, hot tub,4 person full spectrum sauna, 2 outdoor showers, gym, hammockville, tons of lounging spaces, deck balconies, fire pit, fire tables, BBQs, Quiet, one-of-a-kind, secluded, private; miles of make-your-own trails all around us and close to the entrance to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park (fastest and easiest way in). Massage and Yoga on call when available.
The space
The Joshua Tree Container Resort and Spa has been designed by artist John Henry Jones to create a beautiful, quiet, secluded, meditative, inspirational, and one-of-a-kind, clothing optional retreat and spa. Indeed well-known hit songs, films and television shows have been created at this historic property. Three standalone units are combined to create one sui generis huge hacienda. 5 queen beds, 1 king, three kitchens, three bathrooms, tons of outside lounging and sleeping spots, outdoor showers, lap pool, jacuzzis, gym, hammocks. The Ranch House is a cozy, southwestern-themed studio that features tow queen sized beds and full kitchen (incl. stove, oven, large microwave, large fridge/freezer with ice maker and filtered water dispenser), bathroom with shower, living area, breakfast nook, and desk and writing area w/ a high end, super comfy, leather captain's chair. Virtually silent central AC/Heat; a private screened-in lanai/front porch boasts a powerful, 3 speed overhead fan, plush lounge, rocking camp chairs, and an enclosed sleeping area (if our guests like the feeling of sleeping outside -- this special lanai space is the pinnacle of critter-free outdoor living) with plenty of lighting options. The second unit: the Desert Dream Container Suite has a plush King-sized bed, full kitchen and private bath. The third: The Desert Skybox Suites boasts two bedrooms suspended in mid-air with private balconies and extraordinary views; full kitchen and bath, and a deck with unparalleled views of the Joshua Tree area. On the compound patios there is a a hanging day bed, 2 jacuzzis, a relaxing lap pool (with powerful jets for swimming), two outdoor showers, lounges, and daybeds under the stars, top notch 4-burner chef's bbqs, fire pit, separate outdoor seating/lounging and palapa areas (upon availability we have a large, enclosed dog run, and a horse facility). Fruit trees, grape vines and succulents border the property, and a massive centerpiece Eucalyptus tree shades the raised sun/star deck. There is virtually no light pollution at El Rachito, and there are few places on earth that can rival its spectacular sunrises, sunsets, stargazing, meteor showers, and lunar views.

P.S. -- During the cold months (roughly December thru February, it's not a long winter out here) it can be cold at night and can be nippy during the day if the wind whips up, so please do be prepared for high desert cold if booking in the Winter months: bring appropriate clothing (think ski jackets). If you want to build a fire in the fire pits, please bring 1-2 bundles of firewood per day (or firewood is available for purchase and delivered to you if previously set up, just ask us). Please let the Ranch Manager know when you initially make contact your level of experience building/tending a campfire; as well as tending BBQ grills, and we'll give you any necessary pointers. There's central heating/AC if needed in all three units, so our guests won't be hot, or cold, no matter what.
Other things to note
— Check in is 4PM. Check out is 11AM.
— Please ALWAYS observe 10MPH speed limit on all our neighborhood dirt roads.
— Please always turn off outside lights, fans, etc. when not in use.
— NO EXTRA GUESTS (above 10) without prior authorization, payment and arrangements are allowed on the property AT ANY TIME. This is for insurance reasons, among others.
— NO PARTIES or events are allowed without prior authorization, payment, and arrangements made in concert with El Ranchito’s managers.
— PET POLICY: There is an additional $69 FEE, PER PET, per stay that must be paid before you arrive. All pets must be housebroken, and mustn’t be chewers, diggers, aggressive, or incessant barkers. You must pick up after your pet, and YOUR PETS CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED ON THE PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. They MUST stay with you for your entire stay. Please don't make a bad deposit in the karma bank by bringing pets here without telling us and paying for them, or by leaving them here alone, at any time.
— NO TOBACCO SMOKING. Please enjoy your tobacco products out in the open desert and do not leave butts anywhere on the property, nor bring them back into your suite, even to throw away. Take them to the dumpster out behind the old barn. Failure to respect these rules means you agree to pay a $250. tobacco-smoke, deep cleaning fee.
— NEVER leave doors/screen doors open, as you’ll likely get critters as roommates which can ruin your stay, and they can be difficult and costly to have removed. ALWAYS CLOSE ALL DOORS when you leave your suite, and upon departure.
DITTO: NEVER LEAVE FOOD OR SCRAPS OUTSIDE AT ANYTIME, they can draw vermin.
— NO OPEN FLAMES OR FIRES EXCEPT AT FIRE PIT (incl. candles, incense, etc.)
— ALL GUESTS MUST SHOWER before entering pool or spas to maintain water quality levels for all guests; two outdoor showers are directly nearby pool and both hot tubs.
— DO NOT ADJUST POOL TEMPERATURE ABOVE 80 DEGREES. The pool is for swimming, and for all guests on the compound to enjoy. If you're after a hot water experience, please use one of the two hot tubs.
— DO NOT ADJUST either hot tubs’ temperature level below 100 degrees.
— DO NOT UNPLUG OR POWER DOWN HOT TUBS AT ANY TIME, the jets will continue to run until the hot tubs are back up to the programmed heat. Please just cover the hot tub after use, and let it do its thing.
— NO GLASS ON THE POOL OR SPA PATIOS AT ANY TIME.

Joshua Tree Ranchito Regio de la Playa is only 8 miles from the Visitors Center and Eastern entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, and is the closest entrance to many of the parks top destinations, including the Bell, Cottonwood Springs, Jumbo Rocks, Ryan Mountain, Sheep's Pass, Skull rock and Split rock areas.
While at the ranch, guests are also only 4 miles away from the legendary Smith's Ranch drive in movie theater (one of the last of it's kind in the country), the famous 29 Palms Inn, the infamous Palms Saloon, and the wonderfully kitschy Foster's Freeze ice cream parlor. For awesome and totally unique hiking, running, mountain biking, off roading and horseback riding however you never need to get in your car. You can walk out the front door and take off, devising your own routes and outdoor adventures over miles and miles of scenic Mojave desert splendor. Wildlife is abundant in the park and at the ranchito and while lounging on the lanai, in a hammock, or in the jacuzzi our guests regularly spot coyotes, jackrabbits, all types of birds and the occasional bobcat.
Given enough notice, and based upon availability, yoga and mindfulness instructors, massage and bodywork therapists, and climbing, hiking, cycling, ATVing, and horseback riding guides are available for hire.
Also, in nearby Pioneertown, people come from all over the world to visit the internationally-renowned Pappy and Harriet's concert venue and wild west town (Paul McCartney and Lourde recently played there).
