Itoshima Nogita House
This beautiful kominka is a spacious 130sqm traditional Japanese home. We provide e-bikes so you can effortlessly cruise the scenic coastline and immerse yourself in nature.

Once an 85-year-old bike shop, this stylishly renovated retreat sits in the heart of Itoshima’s Nogita area. Located right on the famous Sunset Road, you’ll enjoy easy access to Futamigaura and Keya—not to mention the stunning Nogita Beach is just a 10-minute walk (800m) away!

While the neighborhood is a peaceful, secluded retreat, our 5 e-bikes (including one with a child seat) make exploration effortless. You won’t need to worry about the coastal hills; simply hop on and cruise to nearby cafes like Current or London Bus Cafe. We also provide a kid’s bike, scooter, and helmets, making this an ideal base for families.

When you aren’t at the beach, enjoy our rapid Wi-Fi and full suite of streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, and U-Next/HBO). Whether for a "workation" or a movie night, we have you covered.

ACCESS

Car: ~60 min from Fukuoka Airport / Hakata Port.

Bus: Take the "Ito-Shima-Gou" from Hakata Bus Terminal to Nogita stop. The house is a 2-min walk from the stop. (60 min direct ride).

SHOPS / RESTAURANTS

Please note that there are no shops in the immediate vicinity. The nearest supermarket and convenience store are about 5km away (a 20-minute ride on our e-bikes).

While there are some lovely cafes and restaurants within a 10-minute bike ride, most are only open for lunch. We recommend enjoying a nice lunch out, and then picking up some groceries to prepare a relaxing dinner back at the house.

If you're arriving by bus, it’s a good idea to shop before you arrive. Of course, you can always hop on our e-bikes for a quick grocery run once you've checked in! We also keep some cup noodles in the pantry as a backup snack just in case.

After living in the UK for many years I moved back to Tokyo where I am originally from then moved to Fukuoka for a rural life.
