The space
Ickle Cottage is an adorable detached one-bedroom cottage on a quiet country lane in the heart of the village in rural Norfolk. You have the whole house to yourself.
Upstairs comprises of a bedroom with a king size bed, hanging rail, cupboard and drawers for storing your belongings. The bedroom door is short as it goes under a beam so you'll need to duck. The floor is the original wood.
There is a light and airy bathroom with a toilet, sink, mirror, bath, and a Triton electric shower.
>>>Note that the staircase has a tight curve so not suitable for guests with mobility issues.<<<
Downstairs is a large open-plan room with a sitting area and woodburner (available during the winter months). The three-seater sofa is big enough for you and your pets to snuggle up whilst you watch the TV or read a book from our little holiday reading stash.
The kitchen is bright and offers an electric hob, full-size oven and grill, a kettle and a toaster. We have an old welsh dresser chock full of vintage crockery for you to use.
When it's time to eat there is a dining nook with a drop leaf table and two chairs along with cute placemats and comfy seat cushions. Or you might like to take your glass of wine into the sunlit courtyard to enjoy the fresh air.

Other things to note
The cottage is in a very rural area and we have retained as many features as possible. This means it has some quirks so please READ THIS INFORMATION thoroughly before booking.
- The ceilings in the cottage downstairs are much lower than a normal house so not suitable for anyone over 6ft 6" tall. Or you'll have to duck!
- The staircase is on a tight twist so may not be suitable for guests with mobility restrictions. (See photos).
- The bedroom door is SHORT so you need to duck.
- There are two stone steps from the sitting room up to the kitchen. (See photos).
- All floors are either wood or tiles. There are no rugs as these pose tripping and hygiene hazards.
- The water pressure varies as we are in a rural area so don't be surprised if it suddenly dribbles out on occasion, check the Anglia Water website for issues.
- The hot water is run on an immersion heater and takes two hours to reheat. So don't have a bath before you do the washing up!
- The hot water tap in the kitchen is slow, so use the bowl to save water and time.
- There is no microwave, however most microwave meals will go in the oven.
- Absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises inside or out.
- No parties.
- No charging of electric cars.
- No fake tanning.
- No hair dyeing.
- The cottage is set to be as eco-friendly as possible. Please recycle and keep your energy usage to a minimum.
- In order to keep our nightly rate down, a budget of 25kwh per day is allowed in our fee during the winter months. Excess energy usage will be charged at the current supplier rate. You agree to pay this charge when you book our cottage. A smart meter is in the cottage to allow you to monitor your usage.
