Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire home, driveway, and outdoor spaces throughout their stay.
Self check-in with the keypad makes arrival easy, whether you're getting in after a day of exploring Pictured Rocks, riding the trails, or arriving late in the evening.
The spacious driveway offers plenty of room for multiple vehicles, trucks, and trailers, with direct access to the area's snowmobile and ATV trail system right from the property.
Although we don't live on-site, we're always just a message away. Whether you need local recommendations, trail conditions, restaurant suggestions, or help planning your next adventure, we're happy to help make your stay unforgettable.
Other things to note
To help you have a smooth, relaxing, and memorable stay, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Security
For your safety and the security of the property, exterior security cameras monitor the driveway and outside areas only. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private outdoor spaces.
Rural Setting
One of the best parts of staying at Husky Hideaway is experiencing the peace and beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Because we're in a rural area, cell service may vary depending on your carrier. High-speed Wi-Fi is provided, but we recommend downloading maps or any important information before heading out to explore.
Wildlife & Seasonal Insects
Being surrounded by nature is part of the Husky Hideaway experience! It's common to see deer, wild turkeys, grouse, squirrels, and other wildlife around the property.
As with most wooded areas in the U.P., seasonal insects—including mosquitoes, biting flies, ticks, and the occasional millipede—may be present, especially during the warmer months. We have regular professional pest control, but an occasional bug indoors is still possible. We recommend bringing insect repellent and checking for ticks after spending time outdoors.
Seasonal Weather
Weather in Michigan's Upper Peninsula can change quickly throughout the year. Snow, ice, rain, and changing road conditions are all part of the adventure, so we recommend checking the forecast before heading out each day and allowing extra travel time when needed.
Pet-Friendly Home
We happily welcome well-behaved dogs! If you're bringing your pup, we kindly ask that they not be left unattended unless crated and that furniture is protected with the provided pet sheets or your own blankets.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate cats due to severe allergies.
Trail Access
One of the things that makes Husky Hideaway unique is direct access to the snowmobile and ATV trail system right from the property. Simply unload, gear up, and ride—no need to trailer to a trailhead.
