Hillcrest Studio - Tucked away on a quaint residential street that ends with a 30 acre park, this modern studio is bright and new and purposefully designed to pack in all the amenities for a peaceful stay for up to two travelers. Equipped with a private entrance, kitchenette, work table, & bathroom. Just a 20 minute walk from the historic main street of Mount Vernon, and a great launching spot for many NW adventures (flower fields, birding areas, San Juan islands, Cascade mtns). No pets.
The space
The studio is in a separate building behind the main house. It was custom built by the hosts; with high ceilings, natural light, and a peekaboo view of Little Mountain. It is a private retreat where you can cook your own meals. The space is fully equipped with a kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, stovetop, sink, toaster oven, coffee makers, etc), table and 2 chairs, sofa, bathroom, closet, storage areas and a Queen sized pillow top inner springs hybrid mattress. There is no air conditioning; but there is a ceiling fan, opening windows, and blinds for all the windows. The TV has YouTube cable and HDMI inputs. Feel free to bring your own Firestick or similar devices.

Free street parking available in the front. Private walkway to studio entrance has 5 exterior stairs. Keypad entrance.
Other things to note
The studio shares one wall with a part time wood-working shop. It has been sound insulated, but you may hear occasional train whistles wafting up from the valley below. It is small but well designed for two guests (maximum) and is not child-proofed.
We would love to host your family or friend, but require that the reservation is made by at least one of the guests that will be staying in the studio.
The studio is available for long term stays up to 58 consecutive days. For those long term stays, we can provide access to a Washer/Dryer. We offer Weekly & Monthly discounts, which auto-calculate when you book.

Neighborhood highlights
Quiet neighborhood street that ends at Hillcrest Park: a 30 acre park with tennis courts, pickleball courts, grassy fields, playgrounds, walking trails and picnic tables. We are about a half a mile from a corner store and the Skagit Regional Hospital. The historic downtown Mount Vernon is a mile down the hill, easy to walk to if you don’t mind the hill on the return trip.
