Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
Surrounded by prickly pears, palo verde trees, and desert grasses, Highland Adobe is a century old retreat in the heart of Marfa, Texas. The space has been designed with tranquility, comfort, and inspiration in mind while paying homage to the rustic minimalism of the Chihuahuan Desert. Located in the center of town, the adobe is walking distance to all of Marfa’s incredible restaurants, shops, galleries, and event spaces while still maintaining privacy and serenity.

The space
The main house at Highland Adobe features a flowing, bright, open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, white oak floors, and limestone plaster walls. The living area is the perfect spot to put on a record or browse through an art book from our extensive collection. The meditative main bedroom has a queen bed and smart TV. The bathhouse features large rolling closets, a water closet, walk-in shower, and a deep soaking tub which is the ultimate place to relax after a day spent exploring the Big Bend region. The expansive kitchen at Highland Adobe has been lovingly stocked with everything one would need to enjoy a meal, tea, a cocktail, or coffee at the 12 foot dining table with double glass doors that open to the covered patio and desert garden.

The detached guest casita is located just steps away from the private patio and has two queen beds, a mini-fridge, closet, bathroom, and walk-in shower. The two separate spaces are perfect for individuals, friends, or couples looking for a rejuvenating escape. Enjoy the best view of the bright pink county courthouse from the outdoor fireplace and seating area while surrounded by agaves, willow trees, and palo verde trees. A true oasis, Highland Adobe is the perfect place to relax, create, read, and reset in the beauty of the high West Texas desert.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property which includes the main house, detached casita, and private outdoor area. There is ample street parking directly adjacent to the property. All guests are given a lockbox code prior to self check-in with two sets of keys while staying on the property.

Other things to note
Hotel Occupancy Tax - A 7% HOT tax required by the City of Marfa is included in the nightly rate. In some areas, Airbnb does not yet allow city taxes to be added as an extra line item, so this is included in the base price.
