Welcome to Halfshell Haven, a recently refreshed vacation rental in the heart of the Cape Charles historic district. This charming duplex is steps away from the shops and restaurants of Mason Avenue, and just 4 blocks from the beach!
The upstairs unit sleeps up to 8 guests with three queen bedrooms, a spacious bunk room, and a pack 'n' play. There are two full bathrooms and an open living space with a comfy living room, dining area, and fully stocked kitchen. One 4-seater golf cart included.
The space
Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, gathering around the dining table for lunch after a morning at the beach, or grilling out in the backyard under the maple tree, you have space to relax and recharge at Halfshell Haven. No detail has been overlooked, from the comfortable beds and fully stocked kitchen to the baby supplies, bikes, and beach gear at your disposal. Guests also have access to our four-seater golf cart.
The backyard is shared with both units, with plenty of space for everyone. There are two picnic tables, a grill, adirondack chairs, and a firepit. The shed is stocked with bikes, beach chairs, beach toys, and beach wagons. The driveway is shared between both units, with room for several cars and golf carts.
The location: Halfshell Haven is located smack dab in the center of town. The beach, with its gentle waves and stunning sunsets, is four blocks away. Mason Avenue, the town’s main street, is less than a block away — Peach Street Books, AJ’s Bar & Grill, Deadrise Italian Kitchen, Chase’s Soft Serve, and Mason Avenue Bakery are at your doorstep. And Central Park, a block away, is where you’ll find a playground, the summer concert series, and pickleball courts.
Need more space? Ask about renting both units, with space for up to 13 guests. Ideal for extended families and friend groups seeking a bit of extra space, renting both sides of the home gives guests five queen bedrooms, a bunkroom, four full bathrooms, plus two kitchens and three living spaces!

This is the upstairs unit of the duplex with a private entry. You may occasionally hear guests downstairs. The driveway and outdoor spaces are shared with both units. Ask about renting both units for more space!
Other things to note
Trash is collected on Tuesday mornings. Please wheel the trash can out to the curb by Monday night and return to the side of the house after it’s been emptied.
