Guest access
We’ll send you a unique code to unlock the smart lock on the front door. There is ample parking for two cars, with up to six cars parking in tandem. The entire property is yours.

Other things to note
The house is a country property and so, as is common here, is on well water and septic. The water runs through a state of the art filtration and softening system that is checked regularly. It is truly delicious and is all we drink when we stay . Please no harsh chemicals in the sink, and only toilet paper down the toilet.

The house is almost — but not entirely — fenced in. There is an open section for the driveway at the opposite end of the property that the house is located.

The is located off of a small two-lane country road: There is the sound of traffic during the day and complete silence at night. Also note that there are three steps up to the front door, and a step up to enter the bathroom.

Walking into the town of Graton requires walking on the country road for all of 90 seconds. There are no sidewalks as this is the country. We walk into town with our baby in a stroller, as do all of our neighbors.

Please note, 100% of the cleaning fee goes towards our dedicated housekeepers, who make sure that every detail is looked after so that you can relax and enjoy a perfectly clean home

We love dogs! However, our sofa and bed does not. We have a strict no pets policy on the couch and bed. We provide dog towel, paw wipes, dog bowls, and extra poo bags.

Thank you for reading all of this! Please write to us with any questions big or small.

Neighborhood highlights

The home's location is the perfect mix: Feel like you're out in the country, while still being able to walk to restaurants and wineries. A ten minute walk in one directions takes you to the center of Graton with its two wineries, a superb cafe and gastro pub, and a bodega open late with an impressive collection of wine, spirits, and ice cream. A ten minute walk in the other direction will lead you to vineyards. The Joe Rodata walking / bike trail is a short walk away from the cottage and leads you through vineyards (with tasting rooms!), farms with goats, llamas, and horses, and connects Forrestville to the north with Sebastopol to the south.

Here's a short list of our favorite things to do.

**WALKING DISTANCE**:

Willow Wood Market and Cafe

A delicious cafe restaurant that almost always has a line on the weekends. During the week, its a great place to grab a coffee and do some work. The polenta and farmer’s scramble are outstanding. Definitely worth popping in at some point in your stay

Paul Matthew Winery

What it lacks for in the influencer-vibe-heavy Bowman Cellars next door, this place makes up for in the quality of their wine. Outdoor seating out the back and super knowledgable staff make this place a favorite for people who are serious about wine.

Bowman Cellars
Outdoor seating and a menu of cheese and charcuterie make this place a delightful option to sit and enjoy their Russian River Pinot and Chardonnay, Alexander Valley Cabernet, and Sierra Foothills Zinfandel.

Full Bloom Flower Farm Flower Stand

Take a right out of the cottage and loo for a handmade sign that says “flowers”. Follow the driveway for a bit and you’ll encounter a flower stand full of wedding-quality floral bouquets by one of the Bay Area’s best florists.

Joe Rodata Trail

Take a left out of the cottage and look out for the walking / bike trail just as you pass over the Atascadero creek, on the left. This is an eight and a half mile trail that connects Forrestville to Sebastopol. It meanders through vineyards and features a pair of friendly llamas. Perfect for morning runs.

MD Market

A convenience store / bodega open until 10pm that has an impressive collection of wine and spirits for sale as well as cooking staples so you don't need to drive more than one minute away from the cottage to pick up anything you may have forgotten to cook up your five star dinner.

**GRAPES!**

Iron Horse Vineyards

(8 min drive ) Famous for their sparking wines which have been served at the White House for the last six consecutive administrations. They make a chardonnay that is a perfect example of Green Valley wine. The best part is being able to take in the stunning views of the mountains and vineyards while enjoying your glass of wine.

Lynmar Estate Winery

(4 min drive) One of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in Sonoma County. Another tasting room with a spectacular backdrop of the vineyard and under redwood trees. For the ultimate luxury wine and culinary experience, make a reservation for the Collector’s Lunch Pairing and you’ll get to enjoy a three course lunch paired with their wines that will blow your mind.

Horse & Plow

(5 min drive) An organic, all natural winery that also makes outstanding cider. Before vineyards took over, Sebastopol used to be entirely apple orchards, and you can taste some of that history here in their all-gravenstein apple cider. There’s always a chill vibe outside with live music on the weekends.

Pax Wines

(11 min drive) Our favorite tasting room in The Barlow. Famous for their Syrah, they also craft a wonderful selection of funky wines including our favorite Gamay. We almost always leave here with a case full of wines. They close at 8pm on the weekends, making it a great option for a later tasting.

**RESTAURANTS**

Farmhouse Inn

(9 min drive) A one Michelin star restaurant featuring a seasonal menu showcasing the best that West Sonoma County has to offer. Book this restaurant well in advance to get a table.

Pascaline

(3 min drive) When we don’t want to wait in line for Willow Wood, we hop in a car and take the two minute drive to Pascaline, a french style bakery with outdoor seating and an always satisfying assortment of pastries. The croque madam with a chocolate croissant on the side is our go-to order.

Khom Loi

(7 min drive) A new restaurant serving Thai food in a hip and trendy setting. It received the Michelin’s Bib Gourmand in 2021. Open late, with a long wine wine list and a continually changing menu.

Casino Bar and Grill

(17 min drive) An easily-missed bar in the town of Bodega, on the way to the coast. Its not a Casino, but named after the Casini family that has owned it for generations. On the weekends, the patio serves fresh oysters and BBQ delights. A favorite spot often filled with locals.

Ramen Gaijin

(8 min drive) Really outstanding ramen, with their noodles made fresh in-house. Extensive sake and Japanese whiskey list, and a seasonal menu of izakaya small plates. Make a reservation here as the lines can be long on the weekends.

The Farmer’s Wife

(9 min drive) The best sandwiches and salads you’ve ever had in your life, guaranteed. Inspired sandwiches served by The Wife herself, with all the ingredients direct from local farms. Also: a long menu of fries!

Fern Bar

(9 min drive) A very trendy cocktail bar and gastropub serving up delicious creative dishes in a hip but relaxed setting. Located in The Barlow

**PRODUCE, DAIRY, BREAD**

Wild Flour Bakery

(12 min drive) The best bread. Period. You will find bread lovers from all over they bay area making their weekly pilgrimage to Wildflour to pick up their loaf of Fougasse or Olive. Don’t be deterred by the long line. Its unavoidable and fast moving.

Nightingale Bread

(6 min drive) For when you need a high quality baguette or can’t be bothered waiting in line at Wild Flour. Also features beautiful farm fresh eggs sold by the dozen, and surprisingly good challah on Fridays.

Bohemiam Creamery

(3 min drive) Open Friday through Sunday, this is one of Sonoma’s best creameries. They have goat, cow and sheep cheeses. You can reserve a private tour of their facilities and indulge in a guided cheese tasting journey.

Freestone Artisan Cheese

(12 min drive) Right next door to Wild Flour Bakery, this small store sells hand crafted artisan cheeses, California nuts, olive oils grown and pressed locally, raw local honey, and small-batch jams. But the best part of this place is that they make fresh galettes to order with eggs and cheese of your choice.

Andy’s Produce Market

(4 min drive) Farmer’s market quality produce available every day in the open-air produce market. This grocer has everything you need for all of your cooking needs, including bulk grains and plenty of organic health foods. There is a cafe stand outside as well as a stand for Panizzera Meat Company, a local artisanal butcher selling top quality cuts of beef, lamb, and chicken.

Delivery

Delivery to the cottage is available via Whole Foods and Instacart.

**THINGS TO DO**

The Coast

The Sonoma coast is only a 25 minute drive away from the cottage through farmland and vineyards. We often take a day trip to Bodega Bay, where we stop at Spud Point Crab Company for the best cup of Clam Chowder on this side of the continent. Bodega Head, just further down the road from Fisherman’s Cove, is a great site for whale watching and hiking and taking in the breathtaking rugged coastline.

If you have the time, taking the hour and a half drive up the coast to Salt Point State Park is absolutely worth the detour. Incredible hikes and rock formations make this a very magical place.

The Barlow

The Barlow is a 12-acre Bay Area outdoor market district featuring local food, wine, beer, spirits and crafts made onsite by Sonoma County artisans. There’s a farmers market on the weekends and more often than not some kind of festival going on in the summer weekends. You can easily spend an afternoon and evening here browsing the shops and enjoying excellent examples of wine and cuisine.

Check out the Rialto Cinemas, an art house cinema that plays obscure foreign films as well as the latest Hollywood films. They sell alcohol and food there as well.

Spas

Osmosis Day Spa is a Japanese style spa where you can relax with a massage and their signature Cedar Enzyme bath where you immerse your body completely in a fermenting combination of cedar and rice bran. You have to try it for yourself

For the ultimate in luxury pampering, book a treatment at The Wellness Barn at the Farmhouse Inn. Offering couples massages, and a unique experience involving a day of biking, yoga, a six-course wine and food pairing, and then a sixty minute massage.

Or, you can transform the cottage into a spa. Massage By Patrticia offers a mobile spa and has a devoted following of clients who swear that she’s the best.
