It has been said that the Grand Loft is like walking into the architecture and design you might find in a NYC loft. You'll find it casual luxury, Kootenay style.

Upon entering, be greeted by soaring 20' ceilings, fir beams, and awe-inspiring views of the majestic mountains. Take in partial glimpses of the lake and stunning sunsets on one side, while beholding BOB, our iconic big orange bridge, on the other.

The Master bedroom offers a captivating design with unique barn doors that open to an elegant living area below. Enjoy the luxury of a quality king bed, a cozy electric fireplace seating area, and a delightful ensuite with a rejuvenating soaker tub and spacious waterfall shower.

Experience tranquility in the Canter room, adorned with a serene white horse mural, and its own private full ensuite. Indulge in the comfort of deluxe bedding on a queen bed and ample closet space.

Relax in the Great Room on a leather sectional couch. Prepare meals in the expansive chef’s kitchen, equipped with a gas stove, quality cookware and a magnificent 10' fir slab bar with stools. Gather around to eat at the endless live-edge hand-hewn fir dinner table for a memorable dining experience.

Step out onto the private balcony, overlooking the breathtaking mountain and lake views, and unwind in the cozy jacuzzi hot tub for two.

For your convenience, our home is equipped with a washer/dryer and a keyless code lock.

While the suite is situated in proximity to railroad tracks, most guests find the passing trains intriguing and not bothersome. The trains move at a leisurely pace and seldom sound their horns in this area of town. As the tracks extend all along the lake, train sounds can be heard throughout much of the town.

The Lamplighter is located in a quiet neighborhood, separate from any highway or downtown noise. A 15-minute walk will take you to the lakeside pathway, which stretches along the shore past the mall and through Lakeside Park to the orange bridge.

In addition to its convenient location, the Lamplighter is also close to Cottonwood Falls and the Saturday market, as well as Gyro Park and its famous view lookout. For hikers, Elephant Mountain's Pulpit Rock lookout is also within easy reach.

My husband Michael and I love staying in Airbnbs around the world. We enjoy meeting new people and appreciate a great, comfy bed and a beautiful place to stay. We have memories of great hosts we have met from Mauritius to Paris to Zanzibar:) I love to spend lots of time decorating and upgrading details of my space. A good day for me might be painting the walls and buying new pillows or furniture, as well as connecting with people from all around. I also love cooking a delicious meal, listening to Michael play the guitar & spending time with family, friends and our new grandson. Nelson is an awesome home for us as we love the eclectic Baker St shops and restaurants. I’ve been here over 30 years. Living downtown, we walk to the movies, grab a special coffee or stroll down to the lake. Hope you love your stay and can’t wait to come again!
