Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Perched on a hill facing Dutchman Peak and the Siskiyou Crest, our earthen guest cottage is the perfect place to connect with the peace, quiet, and wild beauty of Southern Oregon. We've got many miles of hiking trails to explore, a creek to lounge along, and a pond to dip in.

It's the perfect spot for an artist's or naturalist's retreat, a sleepy getaway with a beloved, or a jump-off point for exploring the Applegate Valley's many amazing hiking trails, rivers, and wineries.

The space
Our guest cottage is located on 280 acres of forest, creek, and field within Full Bloom, an intentional community comprised of 8-10 people who are committed to land stewardship, sustainability, personal growth, and communication skills. Full Bloom is also home to a wood-fired artisan bread bakery and herbal medicine business, and guests are welcome to order a loaf of bread and wellness goods for their stay.

The cottage itself is a cozy, simple space just right for 1-2 people. For bathroom needs, our guests use a rustic composting toilet setup adjacent to the nearby bathhouse. Guests are also welcome to shower and take baths in the bath house. While the bath house is a shared community space, the two showers and clawfoot tub are privately enclosed.

Guest access
Air B+B guests are invited to use the guest cottage without limitations, and are welcome to use the showers and bathtub in the nearby bath house freely. The washer and dryer are reserved for the residents and businesses on land.

To maintain the privacy of our residents and employees, we request that our Air B+B guests do not enter the common building, barn, and other buildings unless invited and accompanied by a Full Bloom resident.

If you'd like to use the pond, you may sign up for a two-hour session at no extra cost. For a small extra fee, we can fire up the sauna for you, too!

Other things to note
Our guest house is a perfect place to leave it all behind and sink into the present moment. To support your disconnection from daily stressors, you will not have cell service or wi-fi access. You can, however, drive about 15 minutes down the road to get a signal.

Our Cottage is not suitable for guests during super smokey times. If it's really smokey close to your reserved dates, we will request that you cancel your reservation.

If you bring a pet, we request that you keep it on leash inside of the deer fence, including in front of the guest house.

Neighborhood highlights

We live in the foothills of the Siskiyou mountains about two miles up a gravel road on land traditionally inhabited by the Dakubetede. We are surrounded by BLM land and our nearest neighbors are the birds, foxes, and domesticated cats and dogs who call this place home. Our nearest human neighbors are 1/2 mile up the road and grow traditional Chinese herbs. Ten percent of your guest fee will be donated to local native tribes.

You can't walk to a nearby pub, but you can load up your backpack with some cold drinks, cheese, and wood-fired bread from our bakery and dine along a creek, in a meadow, on a ridge with a view.

If you'd like to explore some of the local wineries or the excellent music at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, we're just about thirty minutes down a country road from it all. Another thirty minutes will get you to Ashland, a beautiful small town that has excellent food, shops, and parks, and is home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Meet your hosts

Where I went to school: Prescott College and the U of Montana
My work: Artist + herbalist
Hello! I live in an intentional community on 280 acres of farm and forest land in the Little Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. My husband and I have a small wellness business through which we sell tinctures and salves made from herbs we wildcraft and cultivate on our land and in the surrounding wilds. I also offer private sessions for personal evolution using tarot, astrology, freewriting, meditation, and somatic practices.
