Guests say this area is walkable with lots to explore, especially for dining out.
This mansion was built in 1820 as a single family home and most recently converted to apartments. This 2BDRM apt has Cathedral ceilings, full bathroom with claw bathtub a half bathroom with only vanity sink (No toilet). This unit is adorned by a dramatic 5ft chandelier, ceiling beams, exposed brick walls, marble countertops and Antique wood floors. All those details will take you back in time to the glory days of the french Opulence.

Location! We are in the heart of the French Quarter

The space
The Barracks a 700 sq. ft. unit was once the attic of the single-family mansion built in 1820. This apartment has 2 bedrooms, 1 fully equipped kitchen with marble kitchen island and barstools, a beautiful vintage bathroom with an original refinished clawfoot tub and exposed brass fixtures. The living room has cathedral high ceilings with original wood beams, a stunning 50”h chandelier, and exposed bricks walls. There are two Queen sofa sleepers, each one with memory foam mattresses. There is an additional antique large vanity w/sink outside the private bathroom and original wood floors installed in 1820. The kitchen has a vintage backsplash mirror wall and gorgeous Statuary marble countertops. Enjoy your favorite wine in the coziness of our Historic courtyard while contemplating the mansion's architecture.

**This Unit is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator in the building**

Guest access
This unit has a private seating area outside the entrance, with an awesome view of the City Sky-scape. There are two outdoor sitting areas by the water fountain. You'll experience the enchantment of living in a Historic Mansion for your stay.

There is a kiosk in the lobby providing pamphlets and brochures for over 100 local site-seeing and area activities within the French Quarter and surrounding New Orleans area.

We do have luggage storage located on the first floor, free of charge for our guests to use.

PARKING
Due to its location in the heart of the city, we do not have onsite parking of our own. There is metered parking with a 2-hour limit between 7 AM and 7 PM, and it's first come first serve. Overnight street parking is free and has no limitations between 7 PM and 7 AM. It's essential to pay attention to street signage to identify the areas where parking is allowed.

There are also 12 parking lots/garages throughout the French Quarter area. Most of the garages and lots are operated by Premium Parking. We recommend you download the Premium Parking app to locate the best parking option for you.

HISTORIC LOCATION
The historic creole mansion known as the French Quarter Mansion was built in 1820 for Christian Rosaleus, the founder of the very prestigious Tulane University School of Law. Today it is one of the most photographed buildings in the French Quarter as it holds the U Need A Biscuit Sign on its side.

We have completely renovated the building and while doing so we preserved as much of its historical value as possible. This makes this building special and we hope you enjoy the work that was completed to preserve the space.

With all the historical buildings in city centers, we want you to be aware of some items that need more tender loving care.

This Airbnb is on the 4th floor the building does not have an elevator.

Many features of this Airbnb are original such as floors, doors, walls, and windows.

The brick walls have been painted so there is minimal brick dust that will fall but please be aware if the walls are touched there may be some dust.
