Guests highlight the location as close to everything yet quiet enough to sleep well at night
Stay above the French Quarter in a spacious 700-square-foot, fourth-floor apartment inside French Quarter Mansion. Once the attic of this 1820 residence, it now features two private bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, exposed beams and brick, antique hardwood floors, a full kitchen, clawfoot tub, one queen sofa bed, and a twin trundle. Walk to Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, restaurants, live music, and the riverfront. Please note: no elevator.

The space
Experience the French Quarter from this spacious two-bedroom apartment on the top floor of French Quarter Mansion. Built in 1820, this 700-square-foot space was originally the attic of the private residence and retains the dramatic architecture and authentic character of its history.

Cathedral ceilings, original wooden beams, exposed brick walls, antique hardwood floors, marble countertops, and a five-foot chandelier create a distinctive penthouse-style retreat just steps from Bourbon Street.

BEDROOM 1
Private bedroom with a comfortable bed, extra-plush Tempur-Pedic top layers, premium linens, and historic architectural details.

BEDROOM 2
Second private bedroom with a comfortable bed, extra-plush Tempur-Pedic top layers, and premium linens.

LIVING AREA
The spacious living room features cathedral ceilings, exposed beams and brick, antique furnishings, one queen sofa bed with a memory foam mattress, and a twin trundle for additional sleeping accommodations.

The apartment can accommodate up to eight guests when all beds are used. Larger groups should expect shared sleeping space in the living room and more limited bathroom access.

KITCHEN
The kitchen features Statuary marble countertops, a mirrored vintage-style backsplash, a marble island with barstools, cookware, glassware, silverware, a microwave, a small stove, and a compact refrigerator.

The refrigerator provides less storage than a standard full-size appliance, so guests planning to prepare larger meals may wish to shop in smaller quantities. Complimentary coffee is provided.

FULL BATHROOM
The vintage bathroom features an original refinished clawfoot tub with exposed brass shower fixtures. The tub requires a high step to enter and may be difficult for guests with limited mobility. The bathroom has darker, atmospheric lighting consistent with its historic design.

ADDITIONAL VANITY
An additional antique vanity and sink are located outside the private bathroom, providing another place for guests to get ready. Please note that this is a vanity sink only—it is not a half bathroom and does not include a toilet.

SHARED COURTYARD
Guests have access to French Quarter Mansion’s gated shared courtyard, where the fountain and historic architecture create a peaceful place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

LOCATION
French Quarter Mansion is located on Dumaine Street, just steps from Bourbon Street. Royal Street, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Café du Monde, the French Market, restaurants, galleries, nightlife, and the Mississippi Riverfront are all within walking distance.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This apartment is located on the fourth floor and requires climbing several flights of narrow, historic stairs. There is no elevator. The climb is substantial, especially with luggage, and the apartment is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or difficulty climbing stairs.

Although the apartment can accommodate up to eight guests, it has one full bathroom. The additional vanity provides a second sink but does not include a toilet.

The original hardwood floors preserve the character of this 1820 building and may creak or have natural variations. Please walk gently, particularly during quiet hours, out of consideration for guests below.

Parking is not provided onsite and can be limited in the French Quarter. Guests arriving by car should reserve nearby paid parking in advance and consider dropping off luggage before parking.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire two-bedroom apartment and shared access to French Quarter Mansion’s landscaped courtyard and common entrance areas.

The apartment is located on the fourth floor and requires climbing several flights of narrow historic stairs; there is no elevator. Because of the substantial climb, guests are encouraged to drop off luggage before parking and pack accordingly.

Secure self-check-in instructions and access codes will be provided before arrival.

During your stay
We greet guests for check-in as often as possible, but also provide self-check-in to accommodate late night and week-ends.

Other things to note
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT

We completely understand travel schedules can vary, and when we’re able to, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. These are only possible when our cleaning and preparation schedule allows and cannot be guaranteed or planned in advance.

Because each stay is carefully scheduled, we’re not able to confirm these requests ahead of time, but if availability opens up closer to your arrival or departure, we’ll always reach out and let you know.

PARKING (FRENCH QUARTER)

You’re staying in the heart of the French Quarter—one of the most walkable and vibrant areas in New Orleans—so most guests find a car is not necessary during their stay.
We do not offer onsite parking. Street parking is available nearby, but it is limited, metered during the day (7 AM–7 PM) with 2-hour limits, and free overnight where permitted (7 PM–7 AM). As always in the French Quarter, please carefully follow posted signage.

There are also several nearby paid parking garages throughout the area, including Premium Parking and other private parking operators. These are independent third-party companies not affiliated with the property and operate at their own set rates and availability. Guests often find the Premium Parking app helpful for locating and reserving parking in advance.

When available, there is also a loading zone directly in front of the property that may allow for quick drop-off, pickup, or luggage loading. This is not guaranteed and is subject to city enforcement and availability.

HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER BUILDING

You’ll be staying in a beautifully preserved early-1800s French Quarter building filled with the charm and character that make New Orleans so unique.

The home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort while maintaining many original architectural features, including doors, walls, and windows. These details reflect the authentic history of the building and the city itself.

Please note the property does not have an elevator, and access is via stairs.

As with many historic homes in New Orleans, you may notice natural aging or small imperfections throughout the space, these are part of its original character and not defects, but part of its story.
