Stay steps from Bourbon Street in a historic one-bedroom apartment inside French Quarter Mansion. Located on the third floor, it features 11-foot ceilings, a dramatic chandelier, original hardwood floors, a fireplace, marble bathroom, full kitchen, and shared balcony gallery overlooking Dumaine Street with views toward Bourbon. Walk to Royal Street, Jackson Square, restaurants, music, and the riverfront.
The space
Experience the French Quarter from this elegant one-bedroom apartment inside French Quarter Mansion, an original 1820 residence filled with authentic architectural character.
Located on the third floor, the apartment features 11-foot ceilings, a dramatic five-foot chandelier, 200-year-old hardwood floors, a historic fireplace, French linen drapery, decorative bed crowns, and an elegant marble bathroom.
Wall-to-wall French doors open onto a shared balcony gallery overlooking Dumaine Street with views toward nearby Bourbon Street. Enjoy morning coffee, an evening glass of wine, or the passing sights and sounds of the French Quarter from above.
BEDROOM
The private bedroom includes comfortable beds with extra-plush Tempur-Pedic top layers and premium linens, providing sleeping accommodations for up to four guests.
LIVING AREA
The living area includes a queen sofa bed that can accommodate up to two additional guests. The apartment can sleep up to six, although it is most comfortable for two to four guests. Larger groups using the sofa bed should expect a cozier layout with limited space for luggage.
KITCHEN
The kitchen features new appliances, a marble island with barstools, cookware, cooking essentials, silverware, and glassware for preparing meals during your stay. Complimentary coffee is provided. Please note that the kitchen does not currently include a microwave.
BATHROOM
The marble bathroom includes a shower and tub combination. The tub requires stepping over a raised side and does not have a grab bar, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
BALCONY GALLERY
Step through the French doors onto the oversized semi-private balcony gallery overlooking Dumaine Street, with views toward the nearby Bourbon Street intersection. The apartment does not directly front Bourbon Street.
The balcony is primarily positioned outside this apartment, but it connects to the building’s exterior gallery. Guests from neighboring apartments may occasionally pass through or share portions of the outdoor space. For privacy, keep the French doors and curtains closed when desired.
SHARED COURTYARD
Guests also have access to French Quarter Mansion’s gated shared courtyard, where the fountain, fishpond, and historic architecture create a peaceful place to enjoy complimentary coffee.
LOCATION
French Quarter Mansion is located on Dumaine Street, just steps from Bourbon Street. Royal Street, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Café du Monde, the French Market, restaurants, galleries, jazz clubs, and the Mississippi Riverfront are all within walking distance.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This apartment is located on the third floor and requires climbing multiple flights of steep historic stairs. There is no elevator. The climb can be challenging with luggage and is not recommended for guests with limited mobility.
Access to the apartment is from the shared exterior gallery through a historic French-door opening with lower-than-modern overhead clearance. Taller guests should take care when entering.
The original hardwood floors and exterior gallery preserve the character of this 1820 building and may have natural variations and uneven areas.
Because the apartment is near Bourbon Street, guests may occasionally hear street activity or movement from neighboring apartments, particularly during weekends, festivals, Mardi Gras, and special events.
Parking is not provided onsite. Guests arriving by car should reserve nearby paid parking in advance.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire one-bedroom apartment and access to the semi-private balcony gallery directly outside the apartment. The balcony connects to the building’s shared exterior gallery, so guests from neighboring apartments may occasionally pass through. Guests also have shared access to the landscaped courtyard and common entrance areas.
The apartment is located on the third floor and requires climbing multiple flights of steep historic stairs; there is no elevator. Secure self-check-in instructions and access codes will be provided before arrival.
During your stay
We respect your privacy and make check-in seamless with self check-in and keypad access to the building and your suite.
We are available when needed and only a message or phone call away throughout your stay. Most guests enjoy a fully independent, contactless experience, but we are happy to assist if anything comes up.
Other things to note
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT
We completely understand travel schedules can vary, and when we’re able to, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. These are only possible when our cleaning and preparation schedule allows and cannot be guaranteed or planned in advance.
Because each stay is carefully scheduled, we’re not able to confirm these requests ahead of time, but if availability opens up closer to your arrival or departure, we’ll always reach out and let you know.
PARKING (FRENCH QUARTER)
You’re staying in the heart of the French Quarter—one of the most walkable and vibrant areas in New Orleans—so most guests find a car is not necessary during their stay.
We do not offer onsite parking. Street parking is available nearby, but it is limited, metered during the day (7 AM–7 PM) with 2-hour limits, and free overnight where permitted (7 PM–7 AM). As always in the French Quarter, please carefully follow posted signage.
There are also several nearby paid parking garages throughout the area, including Premium Parking and other private parking operators. These are independent third-party companies not affiliated with the property and operate at their own set rates and availability. Guests often find the Premium Parking app helpful for locating and reserving parking in advance.
When available, there is also a loading zone directly in front of the property that may allow for quick drop-off, pickup, or luggage loading. This is not guaranteed and is subject to city enforcement and availability.
HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER BUILDING
You’ll be staying in a beautifully preserved early-1800s French Quarter building filled with the charm and character that make New Orleans so unique.
The home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort while maintaining many original architectural features, including doors, walls, and windows. These details reflect the authentic history of the building and the city itself.
Please note the property does not have an elevator, and access is via stairs.
As with many historic homes in New Orleans, you may notice natural aging or small imperfections throughout the space, these are part of its original character and not defects, but part of its story.
