Comfortable beds, historic charm

Guests praise the comfortable beds, and many say the historic character made their trip
Take in the French Quarter from a corner balcony overlooking Dumaine Street with views toward Bourbon Street. This elegant 475-square-foot apartment inside French Quarter Mansion features dramatic ceilings, a brass chandelier, original hardwood floors, exposed brick fireplaces, French doors, and a marble bathroom. Located on the second floor, it offers historic character and exceptional walkability just steps from Bourbon Street.

The space
Experience the French Quarter from this elegant second-floor apartment inside French Quarter Mansion, a historic residence built in 1820 and thoughtfully converted into a collection of distinctive apartments.

At approximately 475 square feet, this light-filled retreat showcases 200-year-old hardwood floors, exposed wooden beams, dramatic ceilings, a five-foot brass chandelier, French drapery, decorative bed crowns, and two original fireplaces with exposed brick.

Wall-to-wall French doors lead to a corner balcony overlooking Dumaine Street with views toward nearby Bourbon Street. It is a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee, sip wine in the evening, or watch horse-drawn carriages and neighborhood life pass below.

SLEEPING AREA
Comfortable beds with premium linens provide sleeping accommodations for up to four guests. A queen sofa bed in the living area can accommodate up to two additional guests. The apartment can sleep up to six, although groups using the sofa bed should expect a cozier shared layout.

LIVING AREA
The inviting living area features historic architectural details, comfortable seating, abundant natural light, and a queen sofa bed for additional sleeping space.

BATHROOM
The marble bathroom combines polished modern finishes with the apartment’s historic French Quarter style. Toiletries, towels, and linens are provided.

BALCONY
Step through the French doors onto the corner balcony overlooking Dumaine Street, approximately 40 feet from Bourbon Street. The balcony offers views toward the Bourbon and Dumaine intersection but does not directly front Bourbon Street.

The balcony is part of the building’s shared exterior gallery, so guests may occasionally encounter guests from neighboring apartments.

SHARED COURTYARD
Guests also have access to French Quarter Mansion’s gated shared courtyard, where historic architecture and the soothing fountain create a peaceful retreat.

LOCATION
French Quarter Mansion is located on Dumaine Street, just steps from Bourbon Street. Royal Street, Jackson Square, Café du Monde, the French Market, restaurants, galleries, nightlife, and the Mississippi Riverfront are all within walking distance.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This apartment is located on the second floor and is accessible only by stairs. The historic staircase is narrow and has an unusual configuration, which may be difficult for guests with large luggage or limited mobility. There is no elevator.

The apartment is near Bourbon Street, and street activity may be audible, particularly during weekends, festivals, Mardi Gras, and special events.

Parking is not provided onsite and can be difficult to find in the French Quarter. Guests arriving by car should reserve nearby paid parking in advance.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire apartment and shared access to the exterior balcony gallery, landscaped courtyard, and common entrance areas. The apartment is located on the second floor and requires climbing a narrow historic staircase; there is no elevator. Secure self-check-in instructions and access codes will be provided before arrival.

During your stay
We respect your privacy and make check-in seamless with self check-in and keypad access to the building and your suite.

We are available when needed and only a message or phone call away throughout your stay. Most guests enjoy a fully independent, contactless experience, but we are happy to assist if anything comes up.

Other things to note
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT

We completely understand travel schedules can vary, and when we’re able to, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. These are only possible when our cleaning and preparation schedule allows and cannot be guaranteed or planned in advance.

Because each stay is carefully scheduled, we’re not able to confirm these requests ahead of time, but if availability opens up closer to your arrival or departure, we’ll always reach out and let you know.

PARKING (FRENCH QUARTER)

You’re staying in the heart of the French Quarter—one of the most walkable and vibrant areas in New Orleans—so most guests find a car is not necessary during their stay.
We do not offer onsite parking. Street parking is available nearby, but it is limited, metered during the day (7 AM–7 PM) with 2-hour limits, and free overnight where permitted (7 PM–7 AM). As always in the French Quarter, please carefully follow posted signage.

There are also several nearby paid parking garages throughout the area, including Premium Parking and other private parking operators. These are independent third-party companies not affiliated with the property and operate at their own set rates and availability. Guests often find the Premium Parking app helpful for locating and reserving parking in advance.

When available, there is also a loading zone directly in front of the property that may allow for quick drop-off, pickup, or luggage loading. This is not guaranteed and is subject to city enforcement and availability.

HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER BUILDING

You’ll be staying in a beautifully preserved early-1800s French Quarter building filled with the charm and character that make New Orleans so unique.

The home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort while maintaining many original architectural features, including doors, walls, and windows. These details reflect the authentic history of the building and the city itself.

Please note the property does not have an elevator, and access is via stairs.

As with many historic homes in New Orleans, you may notice natural aging or small imperfections throughout the space, these are part of its original character and not defects, but part of its story.
