Guests highlight the comfortable beds and the building's historic New Orleans character
Step through wall-to-wall French doors onto a balcony overlooking Bourbon and Dumaine Streets. This elegant second-floor apartment inside French Quarter Mansion features two queen beds, 18-foot ceilings, a crystal chandelier, original hardwood floors, a marble bathroom, and a kitchenette. Enjoy historic French Quarter character, access to the shared courtyard, and an unbeatable location just steps from Bourbon Street.

The space
Experience French Quarter elegance from this beautifully appointed second-floor apartment inside French Quarter Mansion, the historic “U Need A Biscuit” building featured in photography and travel blogs.

At approximately 310 square feet, the apartment makes a dramatic impression with soaring 18-foot ceilings, a five-foot crystal chandelier, original hardwood floors, French drapery, decorative bed crowns, a fireplace, and an elegant marble bathroom.

Wall-to-wall French doors open directly onto a balcony overlooking Bourbon and Dumaine Streets—the perfect setting for morning coffee, an evening glass of wine, or simply watching the French Quarter pass below.

SLEEPING AREA
The open sleeping area features two comfortable queen beds with extra-plush Tempur-Pedic top layers and premium linens. A twin chair bed provides an additional sleeping option. The apartment is most comfortable for up to four guests, but can accommodate a fifth guest using the chair bed.

LIVING AREA
A cozy sitting area and carefully selected antique-inspired furnishings complement the apartment’s French Quarter architecture and romantic white Victorian design.

KITCHENETTE
The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffee maker, kitchenware, and microwave-safe cookware for drinks, snacks, breakfast, leftovers, and simple microwave meals. Please note that there is no traditional stovetop or oven.

BATHROOM
The en-suite bathroom features polished marble finishes and a modern shower, providing a clean and elegant retreat.

BALCONY
Step through the French doors onto the balcony for views of Bourbon and Dumaine Streets. The balcony is part of the building’s shared exterior gallery, so guests may occasionally encounter guests from neighboring apartments.

SHARED COURTYARD
Guests also have access to French Quarter Mansion’s gated shared courtyard, where the fountain and historic architecture create a peaceful retreat from the surrounding neighborhood.

LOCATION
French Quarter Mansion is located on Dumaine Street, just steps from Bourbon Street. Royal Street, Jackson Square, Café du Monde, the French Market, restaurants, galleries, nightlife, and the Mississippi Riverfront are all within walking distance.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This apartment is located on the second floor and is accessible only by stairs. The historic staircase is narrow and has an unusual configuration, which may be difficult for guests with large luggage or limited mobility. There is no elevator.

The apartment has an open, studio-style layout rather than separate bedrooms. It contains two queen beds and a twin chair bed within approximately 310 square feet.

Because the balcony overlooks streets near Bourbon Street, surrounding activity and street noise may be livelier during weekends, festivals, Mardi Gras, and special events.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire apartment and shared access to the exterior balcony gallery, landscaped courtyard, and common entrance areas. The apartment is located on the second floor and requires climbing a narrow historic staircase; there is no elevator. Secure self-check-in instructions and access codes will be provided before arrival.

Other things to note
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT

We completely understand travel schedules can vary, and when we’re able to, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. These are only possible when our cleaning and preparation schedule allows and cannot be guaranteed or planned in advance.

Because each stay is carefully scheduled, we’re not able to confirm these requests ahead of time, but if availability opens up closer to your arrival or departure, we’ll always reach out and let you know.

PARKING (FRENCH QUARTER)

You’re staying in the heart of the French Quarter—one of the most walkable and vibrant areas in New Orleans—so most guests find a car is not necessary during their stay.
We do not offer onsite parking. Street parking is available nearby, but it is limited, metered during the day (7 AM–7 PM) with 2-hour limits, and free overnight where permitted (7 PM–7 AM). As always in the French Quarter, please carefully follow posted signage.

There are also several nearby paid parking garages throughout the area, including Premium Parking and other private parking operators. These are independent third-party companies not affiliated with the property and operate at their own set rates and availability. Guests often find the Premium Parking app helpful for locating and reserving parking in advance.

When available, there is also a loading zone directly in front of the property that may allow for quick drop-off, pickup, or luggage loading. This is not guaranteed and is subject to city enforcement and availability.

HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER BUILDING

You’ll be staying in a beautifully preserved early-1800s French Quarter building filled with the charm and character that make New Orleans so unique.

The home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort while maintaining many original architectural features, including doors, walls, and windows. These details reflect the authentic history of the building and the city itself.

Please note the property does not have an elevator, and access is via stairs.

As with many historic homes in New Orleans, you may notice natural aging or small imperfections throughout the space, these are part of its original character and not defects, but part of its story.
