The space
Experience the history and character of the French Quarter from this beautifully designed loft inside French Quarter Mansion. Originally built as a private residence in 1820, the mansion has been thoughtfully transformed into a collection of distinctive apartments and lofts.

This compact, 325-square-foot retreat features soaring 18-foot ceilings, original exposed brick, wooden beams, dramatic chandeliers, antique furnishings, and a magnificent seven-foot gilt Victorian mirror. Its open-concept design blends historic architecture with modern comfort, creating a memorable setting just around the corner from Bourbon Street.

SLEEPING AREA
The ground-level sleeping area features a comfortable queen bed with extra-plush Tempur-Pedic top layers and premium linens.

LOFT
An additional open sleeping loft is located above the main living area and is accessible only by a short, steep ladder. The loft is not a separate enclosed bedroom and may not be suitable for young children, older adults, or guests with limited mobility.

LIVING AREA
The intimate living area includes original and vintage-inspired furnishings, including a striking French mirror and a daybed-style seating area.

KITCHEN
The kitchen includes a vintage mirrored backsplash, breakfast bar, and cooking essentials for preparing meals during your stay. Complimentary coffee is also provided.

BATHROOM
The bathroom features elegant marble walls and a sleek marble vanity, bringing a polished modern finish to the historic space.

SHARED COURTYARD
Enjoy access to French Quarter Mansion’s shared courtyard, where ceiling fans, architectural details, and the soothing sound of the fountain create a peaceful place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

LOCATION
French Quarter Mansion is located on Dumaine Street, just around the corner from Bourbon Street. Royal Street, Jackson Square, Café du Monde, the French Market, restaurants, galleries, nightlife, and the Mississippi Riverfront are all within walking distance.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This is a compact, 325-square-foot, open-concept loft—not a traditional two-bedroom apartment. The ground-level bed and sleeping loft share the same open living space, and the loft is accessible only by a short, steep ladder.

The apartment is located on the ground floor and opens near the shared courtyard. As with many original French Quarter buildings, guests may occasionally notice sounds or activity from surrounding common areas.

Parking is not provided onsite and can be limited in the French Quarter. Guests arriving by car should reserve nearby paid parking in advance, particularly when traveling with a larger vehicle.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire apartment and shared access to French Quarter Mansion’s landscaped courtyard and common entrance areas. The apartment is located on the ground floor, but the interior sleeping loft requires climbing a short, steep ladder. Self-check-in instructions and access codes will be provided before arrival.

During your stay
We respect your privacy and make check-in seamless with self check-in and keypad access to the building and your suite.

We are available when needed and only a message or phone call away throughout your stay. Most guests enjoy a fully independent, contactless experience, but we are happy to assist if anything comes up.

Other things to note
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT

We completely understand travel schedules can vary, and when we’re able to, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. These are only possible when our cleaning and preparation schedule allows and cannot be guaranteed or planned in advance.

Because each stay is carefully scheduled, we’re not able to confirm these requests ahead of time, but if availability opens up closer to your arrival or departure, we’ll always reach out and let you know.

PARKING (FRENCH QUARTER)

You’re staying in the heart of the French Quarter—one of the most walkable and vibrant areas in New Orleans—so most guests find a car is not necessary during their stay.
We do not offer onsite parking. Street parking is available nearby, but it is limited, metered during the day (7 AM–7 PM) with 2-hour limits, and free overnight where permitted (7 PM–7 AM). As always in the French Quarter, please carefully follow posted signage.

There are also several nearby paid parking garages throughout the area, including Premium Parking and other private parking operators. These are independent third-party companies not affiliated with the property and operate at their own set rates and availability. Guests often find the Premium Parking app helpful for locating and reserving parking in advance.

When available, there is also a loading zone directly in front of the property that may allow for quick drop-off, pickup, or luggage loading. This is not guaranteed and is subject to city enforcement and availability.

HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER BUILDING

You’ll be staying in a beautifully preserved early-1800s French Quarter building filled with the charm and character that make New Orleans so unique.

The home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort while maintaining many original architectural features, including doors, walls, and windows. These details reflect the authentic history of the building and the city itself.

Please note the property does not have an elevator, and access is via stairs.

As with many historic homes in New Orleans, you may notice natural aging or small imperfections throughout the space, these are part of its original character and not defects, but part of its story.
