This 200-year-old farmhouse is fitted with all the comforts of 21st Century living. Just over two hours from NYC by car and three hours by Amtrak! Discover the pride and charm of Northern Connecticut while surrounded by farmland. Close to many seasonal family-friendly activities. Perfect holiday destination or weekend getaway: 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, spacious kitchen & dining room. Enjoy a bonfire outside year-round or cozy up by one of the two original fireplaces.
The space
The Farmhouse faces a country road and sits on a little less than an acre of unfenced land surrounded by a very large open field that is owned by our neighbor.
We have built lovely relationships with all of our neighbors, many who have a great appreciation for the land and have many stories to tell about growing up in Broad Brook, the best way to plant sunflowers and where to find the coldest pint around.
Kitchen:
Spacious and open kitchen with long black quartz countertops, beige French country cabinets, floating island, and black and white farm style tiles. Incredible lighting and natural light. The perfect place to make a family style meal or bake. Fully equipped with stainless steel dishwasher; stainless steel Samsung electric oven & stove, microwave, refrigerator and freezer.
Other perks: Ninja Coffee Maker, Kitchen Aid, Nespresso Machine, fully stocked with pots, pans, mixing bowls, hand mixer, bake ware and utensils. Spices, Coffee & Oil to get cookin’!
Living Room and Dining Room:
This ideal entertainment area includes long pine dining room table seating 8. A living room shares the space with two white couches, a hope chest filled with board games, and a Samsung Smart TV, and Edifier speakers. If you like to unbutton your jeans and lay on the couch after a good dessert – this is the room for you!
First Floor Bathroom:
The first-floor bathroom includes stand-alone shower, sink with mirror, Ginger Lily Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Hand Soap. Great towels, hand towels, and face rags. Wash off after a day of outdoor activity. Close to the backdoor when entertaining outdoors.
Laundry Room
Cute farm-style laundry room with white Samsung Washer and Dryer. Shelves, iron, iron pad, storage and hanging area available.
First Floor Den:
Cozy up by the fireplace for some R&R, a glass of wine, or a good book.
Porch & Fire Pit:
The Farmhouse has a small twinkle-lit porch with two black metal chairs, side table, and a coffee table. We love to observe the autumn leaves or take in the sun with a good cup of coffee.
To the right of the maple tree, we have an operating fire pit, and four red Adirondack chairs. Great for all seasons!
Primary Bedroom:
My favorite room in the farmhouse. Clad with white and black farmhouse inspired wall paper, a small fireplace, black iron queen size bed, cream jute rug, white rocking chair, two side tables, side table lamps, closet with ample shelving and a sliding barn door leads to the en suite bathroom….
Primary Bathroom:
This luxurious bathroom with standing shower for two, a spa-style jacuzzi tub, “his & hers” sinks with matching mirrors, hangers is a romantic getaway in and of itself. Cozy bath towels, hand towels, face towels and Ginger Lily Shampoo, Conditioner, Hand Wash and Body Wash.
Guest Bathroom:
Tub and shower, white marble quartz sink, good lighting, tons of storage.

Blue Room:
A place to work and rest. The Blue Room has a queen size bed, two side tables, two table lamps, a desk & chair, shelves, and closet with ample storage, shelf, and hangers. Hardwood floors, blue jute rug and exposed brick add to the cozy charm of this room.
Red Room
The writer’s retreat. A medium sized room tucked away at the back of the house, with a quaint view of the backyard. Full size pine bed, Red jute rug, wood floors, two side tables, two table lamps, shelves with poetry, white writing desk and chair.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house with the exception of the basement, attic, backyard shed, storage closet, and one closet in the master bedroom.

Broad Brook and the small towns surrounding have a booming agricultural business- growing crops such as tobacco, Christmas tree's, flowers, corn, pumpkin and fruits(raspberry, strawberries, apple). As well as dairy & beef farms. Everyone knows their neighbor and there is a lot of pride in the parks, local businesses, trails. Very close the Massachusetts, Six Flags, Casinos and more! 15 minutes drive to Amtrak.
