Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
✨ SPECIAL FOR MAY STAYS! ✨ Free early check-in at noon or free late check-out at 3:00!

Picture this: you leave the Valley heat behind, and a couple hours later you’re on the deck with coffee, cool air, and kids already outside. Someone spots elk in the trees, the dog’s settled in like it belongs, and dinner’s cooking in a kitchen that actually has what you need. The day unfolds naturally, no rushing, no overplanning. By sunset, everyone’s together, wondering why you don’t do this more often.

The space
Faraway Lodge is the perfect place for multi-generational family gatherings. On the main floor, there are 3 roomy bedrooms/2 bathrooms, 2 large living rooms, a new kitchen, and walk out to wrap-around decks. There are two driveways with lots of parking, and the upper one does not require stairs to get into the house.

Love hiking and walking? Follow the path below the deck to two trailheads. Lots of info about hiking is in the digital guidebook, which you'll receive as soon as you book.

This 2900 sf log cabin has:

👉4 bedrooms, 3 of them with king beds, one with two doubles

👉2 full bathrooms and 1 with a walk-in shower.

👉There are two lofts with beds, as well.

👉1700 sf of decks with fantastic views

👉Propane and wood-burning fire pits

👉Hiking trails right out the door

👉It's situated in the back of a 2-acre wooded lot adjacent to Tonto National Forest.

👉You'll feel like you're in the woods, but Pine restaurants and shops are only 1.5 miles away. It's quiet and secluded and has views for miles.

The front living room has a chalet window looking out at forest and mountain views, with access to the deck. A pellet stove keeps you warm in the winter with a cozy flame.

The living room flows into a dining room with a table that seats 10, plus 3 barstools at the kitchen bar. The remodeled kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare fabulous meals, including small appliances such as a crockpot, waffle maker (the flip kind you find in hotel breakfast rooms), a blender, coffeemaker, toaster, griddle, hand mixer, and more.

There is a spacious living room in the back of the main floor that also has a large chalet window looking out to Tonto National Forest with no houses or buildings in sight. This room has a large TV, games, ping pong, and children's toys. Climb a ladder to the loft above with a twin bed on the floor. Kids love it!

The Primary bedroom is upstairs, and has a king bed, a lounge chair, and ensuite bathroom. There is a private covered deck attached with comfortable furniture, heaters, and even a twin bed with mosquito netting for a nice afternoon nap when the monsoons roll in. The loft has a very comfortable queen sofa bed and a chair/ottoman for relaxing with a book.

We welcome dogs, they love it here. There is a $125 fee and a $500 refundable deposit.

Guest access
You'll have access to all areas of the house and lot except the garage, which is locked.

Other things to note
There is a wood fire pit to use in the area to the side of the house. We don't usually provide wood, but if you see some stacked below the parking area or under the deck, you can use it (we sometimes have it).

When Tonto National Forest is in Stage 1 or higher fire restrictions, you cannot have a fire outside of any kind. This includes smoking. You can receive a hefty fine from Gila County Sheriff's office. We'll let you know, plus there are lots of signs as you drive in. It is your responsibility to be informed about this. Stage I usually starts sometime in early June and lasts until it cools off or if we get significant rain.

There is no fenced yard for your dogs, and we don’t allow you to tether them when you are not with them. Keep your pooches safe, don’t leave them alone outside. That goes for young children as well.

Dogs are the only pets we allow. Please leave kitty at home.

Neighborhood highlights

The Faraway Lodge is in a beautiful walkable Pine neighborhood with paved roads just 1.6 miles from the nearest restaurant and grocery market. Even though it is in a neighborhood, the cabin is situated on the back of two acres, adjacent to Tonto National Forest. You'll feel like you have the forest to yourselves!

Step out the door, across the lot, and you are on a beautiful walking trail that connects with the Arizona Trail. You’ll likely see elk, deer, javalina, rabbits, and the occasional cow or two at the pond. A 15-minute walk the other direction will take you to a trail with the best views of the Pine valley.

The neighborhood has a mix of residents and other vacation home guests. It’s expected that you wave when you see neighbors while driving, it’s a friendly place. You’ll see elk wandering through the area, you can wave to them but don’t get close or try to feed them, even though they seem docile. Babies start to drop in June, so keep an eye out for the spotted cuties in the summer. You may hear them crying, they sound a bit like a falcon.
