Eagle’s Nest with access to Lake Margrethe offers 3 modern-rustic, cozy cottages and a *BONUS REC SPACE* for your next summer group event whether its for work or just for fun.

The property is set up with yard games, a swing set and sandbox for the kids to enjoy, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and just a two minute walk to beautiful Lake Margrethe (only 220 feet away). A boat launch, ORV trails, golf, and mini golf are also nearby.

The space
Eagle’s Nest is a unique property with 3 modern-rustic, cozy cottages that are perfect for hosting your next get together...just a two minute walk to Lake Margrethe.

In addition to the 3 cottages, we also include a bonus space to make gatherings easier. The rec space features a full kitchen, dining space, living room with a large screen streaming tv, full bath with shower, and small game area with board games, arcade game, wall mounted connect four, tic-tac-toe, and more.

Cottage Details:

All 3 cottages have been recently updated with new drywall, fresh paint, new flooring, new toilets and vanities, new mattresses and bedding, new kitchen appliances, smart tvs, mini splits for heating and air conditioning, new window blinds, and new patio furniture. Additionally, each bedroom has a fan and a sound machine with nightlight.

The Duplex, which is known as the Mason and Nolan Cottages, both feature 2 bedrooms with new full beds, a half bath, a kitchenette that includes a fridge, sink, microwave, tabletop stove, air fryer, toaster, coffee maker and Keurig. There is a smaller table and chairs as well as a futon plus a screened in porch with 2 chairs, a loveseat, and coffee table. There is also a double shower house available just for the Mason and Nolan cottages for convenient showering or rinsing sand off.

Next to the duplex is the Kamden Cottage. This cottage is a little bigger and offers vaulted ceilings, two bedrooms (one with a full bed and the other with a twin over full bunk), a sectional with a pull out bed, a dining table and chairs for 6, and a new full bath with a tub/shower. The kitchenette features a fridge, microwave, sink, tabletop stove, air fryer, toaster, coffee maker, and Keurig. There is a large screened in porch with additional seating, including a dining table with chairs as well as a conversation area with a loveseat, coffee table, and two chairs.

Each cottage has board games, cards, dice, and a smart TV (log in and stream your favorite shows) to keep your family entertained in addition to the Eagle's Retreat Rec Space.

Eagle’s Retreat Rec Space:
This bonus space is conveniently located behind the 3 cottages. When you walk inside, there is a built in breakfast nook
and a kitchen featuring a full size refrigerator, large sink, stove/range, and microwave. There's also a coffee bar with a regular and Keurig coffee maker.

To the right of the kitchen is a dining room with 2 smaller expandable tables and 4 benches. It's a great place to eat as a group, play games or cards, or do crafts.

To the left of the kitchen is a small game area that has a PacMan machine, a table top billiards game, wall mounted tic-tac-toe and connect four, as well as board games, cards, and dice.

Through the game area is a small, full bathroom with a shower.

Located behind the kitchen is the living room with a huge sectional, 55" smart tv, dvd's, a convertible coffee table perfect for playing games or cards.

Outdoor Space:
All 3 cottages are just 220' from Lake Margrethe, which is an all sport lake. There is 60' of private frontage as well as a public access (used by locals as a beach) next to the frontage.

If you want to bring your boat, there is a public boat launch just 1.7 miles away (5 minute drive) or pontoon rentals are available at the marina and we have a dock available (shared only with the next door lakehouse).

The yard has a fire pit, charcoal grill, yard games, and a swing set.

Additionally, there are lifejackets, a paddle boat, and kayaks available for more outdoor entertainment (shared with the next door lakehouse).

Other activities nearby include golf, disc golf, biking, shopping, and a local farmers market.

Neighborhood highlights

Lake Margrethe is an All Sports Lake. The view is spectacular with no houses, just natural landscape on the other side of the lake! With 125 ft water frontage and a small beach area with sand. Easy access for kayaks, paddleboards, and all small water toys. For big boats, there is a nearby boat launch about a 5-minute drive away or 1.7 miles.

AuSable River - The headwaters and mainstream of the AuSable River flow within easy driving distance of Grayling. The beautiful AuSable River is one of Michigan’s most desirable destinations for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. There is no better place to fly fish than the AuSable River’s clean and cool waters.

Manistee River - The 232-mile Manistee is one of Michigan’s best fly fishing rivers for catching steelhead, salmon, and trout. It runs through Northern Michigan, entering through Lake Michigan at Manistee. The deep sandy bottom of the river provides a constant and stable flow, and the clear and cold waters make it perfect for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Kayakers who put in upstream can enjoy a nice float as the elevation drops from around 1300 feet down to 582, dropping about 3 feet per mile. Besides the fly fishing, the Manistee is considered the third best smallmouth bass river in Michigan, producing bass between 2 and 4 pounds. The Manistee is also ideal for wildlife watching and scenic photography. A canoe or kayak is the best way to obtain the wilderness experience, although scenic wonders can be had at any woodland area bridge that spans the river.
