In the heart of Golden, BC, this ground floor apartment is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and an award-winning brewery. Though the building is nearly 100 years old, the freshly renovated 2-bedroom unit is entirely modern and fully updated.

Golden is a hub for outdoor recreation and excellent skiing. It serves as a great base for day trips to Banff, Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier, and Jasper National Parks. It is also home to the Skybridge, Canada’s highest suspension bridge.

The space
There is a queen bed in both bedrooms, and a desk in the larger bedroom. During the renovation we installed an energy efficient heat pump which serves as an air conditioning system in the summer. The full kitchen has all the amenities, but if you don’t feel like cooking you’re just a few steps from great dining options. Reclaimed fir from the original rooms serve as design accents throughout the apartment. There are lovely high ceilings throughout.

You'll have full and exclusive access to this apartment throughout your stay. You'll also have access to the shared coin-op laundry machines in the basement of the building.

Please note that this is a multi-use building with local businesses and long term residential tenants; we ask guests to be respectful of these folks during your stay. For this reason, no parties, no smoking, and no pets.

Neighborhood highlights

This is the true downtown of Golden, BC, but the apartment is tucked away behind a huge row of lilac bushes (smells so good in spring!). There are shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, and trails all within a quick stroll from the unit. You can also ride straight from this spot to mountain bike trails on either side of the valley.

Golden sits at the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers in a valley between the Rockies and the Purcell Mountains. You'll find excellent whitewater rafting and kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, and paragliding in the summer. In the winter, there is world-class downhill skiing at Kicking Horse Resort, nordic skiing at Dawn Mountain, heli skiing, ski touring, and snowmobiling.

Golden also has a very popular skate park (skateboarding), a disc golf course, and a traditional golf course too.
