Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Welcome to our slice of paradise on the Deschutes River near Sunriver Resort, Oregon! Just 4 miles from the bustling Sunriver Resort community, our riverside retreat offers easy access to Bend (20 miles), Mt. Bachelor (20 miles), the High Desert Museum (13 miles), and Crater Lake (91 miles). Whether you're into biking, hiking, fishing, water activities, skiing, snowshoeing, golf, or exploring local breweries and shops, there's something for everyone depending on the season.

The space
This is an ideal setting for family gatherings, friendly get-togethers, or corporate/spiritual retreats, offering an inclusive space for bonding and relaxation.

As you approach our home, imagine being blessed by the presence of the local deer, elk, and other wildlife, as a gentle reminder of the enchanting natural beauty surrounding us. We hope these moments create a sense of wonder and connection with the incredible wildlife that graces this landscape.

From the moment you arrive, you'll discover the charm of our front porch—a haven to sit, unwind, and soak in the breathtaking scenery whether you choose to enjoy a good book or relish the view.

Our expansive living room area awaits, inviting everyone to gather, share stories, play games, and create lasting memories. A bonus room upstairs has been tailored for little ones to teenagers, which is alongside sleeping quarters customized for both a large family or all kiddos. There is a blowup mattress in the closet that can fit in the bonus room for extra sleeping. As the adults enjoy time together downstairs, the ambiance is set for laughter, conversation, and cherished moments.

Our home features three comfortable bedrooms downstairs, ensuring everyone's restful sleep. The back porch is perfect for al fresco dining and barbecues, and the dock over the Deschutes River provides the perfect spot for fishing, launching our canoe, or enjoying the view. Please note, even in the Summer months the evenings can be chilly, and recommend warming layers.

Speaking of the Deschutes River, it's ready to be your playground. Bring your own floating devices or paddleboard or paddle in our canoe and two paddle boards while immersing yourself in the river's embrace.

In our home, we celebrate the harmony between human comfort and the rhythms of nature. Welcome the presence of mosquitoes, occasional spiders, and insects as integral components of the tapestry of life here. Nature, in all its forms, is a cherished companion on this journey. We will provide bug repellent, but recommend bringing your own bug anti-itch cream during the Spring and Summer months.

Embrace the wild harmonies of nature as you explore the Deschutes River and the surrounding landscapes. Our home is a gateway to both adventure and serenity, offering you the chance to immerse yourself in Oregon’s natural wonders.

Guest access
You have access to the entire house, however, there are a few cabinets in the garage, laundry room, and bathrooms that are locked or have a note indicating "not for guest use". In the bay area of the garage, it is roped off and not for guests to enter or use any of those items in that area. If a ball rolls into the area, guests are welcome to retrieve it.

Other things to note
To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, and respectful of our neighbors, there is a strict observe quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. During these hours avoid loud voices or shouting, as sounds can carry over the water. May be asked to leave if unable to adhere to quiet hours.

A Canoe is available for use and located on the side of the house. There are also two blowup paddle boards available. Life jackets and paddles are located in the garage in the cabinet. There is also a cart to load the canoe if you prefer not to carry it.

Right next door is a covered picnic area, boat ramp, and basketball hoop that you are welcome to use. We ask you to respect the space and make sure not to leave any items thereafter use and pack out any garbage.

To maintain the integrity of our network and prevent disruptions we ask guests not to tamper or alter the modem or router without prior approval.

Due to our remote location, the Internet provider is Starlink. Wi-Fi speed is 50-500 mb. This can fluctuate during routine maintenance.

The printer onsite, an Epson ET-2850, is located upstairs in the 5-bedroom inside the entertainment center cabinet. We've supplied a few sheets of copy paper, but if you anticipate printing multiple pages, we recommend bringing your own copy/printing paper. Before your arrival or using the printer, we encourage guests to download the necessary software onto their devices in advance.

Originally from OR, my husband and I spent 14 years in CA and NM before returning to OR along with our two sons. We are passionate about the outdoors and always eager to try new activities, including running, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, skiing, and snowshoeing. When baseball season arrives, you'll catch us at the games, cheering on and supporting our boys. Feel free to say hello if you happen to spot us!
