Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Enjoy a unique stay in our century-old, tiny cottage, which is nestled between Geneva-on-the-Lake and Grand River Valley Winery Country. The cozy 360 sq ft cottage includes a full kitchen with dining, bathroom with shower, living room, and a semi-private bedroom with a queen bed. Outside, a paved patio area for dining, a bistro set and a firepit overlooking the meandering Cowles Creek offers relaxation. The downtown location is walking distance to Old Mill Winery and great breakfast places.

The space
This tiny cottage is conveniently located less than 3 miles from Spire Academy.

Built in 1920, the first year of the 13 year Prohibition, this cottage reflects our personal interest and fascination with speakeasys, cozy and hidden hideaways, charming winery settings, tiny homes, and nostalgic, simpler times.

The cottage is “tiny-home living”, yet comfortable for 2 guests, with nine foot ceilings. The living room has a comfy sofa and smart 43” Roku TV (no cable, but access to apps including Netflix), which adjoins to the semi-private bedroom, large enough for a Queen bed and your travel belongings.

Under the bed in a rolling tote there are tennis raquets, tennis balls, CDs, and Vinyl records. The kitchen has a dine-in area and is furnished for your convenience with a Keurig and some complimentary coffee and tea selections.

There is a bathroom with a stand-up shower adjacent from the kitchen. A convenient keyless entry enables an easy, convenient self check-in and eliminates any key hassle.

There is a grill during the non-winter months that you can use in the side/back yard space that overlooks Cowles Creek, complete with a large shade umbrella, patio table, and firepit that will have some wood provided. Also Creekside is a bistro set for quiet morning coffee.

The house does not have central air, however, 2 window units are installed in the summer months.

There are security cameras outside only. Pricing inclusive of all county and local taxes.

Guest access
Guests have access to the 300+ sq ft main level of the cottage. There is no access to the basement, attic, or storage shed. There is a driveway that comfortably fits 1 car, and 2 cars at the most. The outdoor area is a favorite spot to start your mornings with coffee or tea and unwind by the fire in the evenings. Guests are not permitted to cross the fence to the creek or creek area, as the drop off is quite steep.

Other things to note
We take great pride in the cleanliness of our cottage. It is thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant on all surfaces of the home. This includes, but not limited to: door handles, remote controls, keypad, cabinets, blind pull strings, and kitchen appliances. All linens, including comforters, bed sheets, throw blankets, and bed pillow shams, are cleaned in between stays.

Lake life does equal bug life. We try to keep the property bug free as possible, but living relatively close to the lake means that non-biting midges/mayflies/Canadian soldiers may appear time-to-time from the lake.

We do not have cable tv, but we do have wi-fi and a Roku Smart TV for your streaming pleasure.

Our home is 100% smoke free. If you do smoke outdoors, you must keep the front door and windows shut and butts are not to be disposed of in
the house in any way, nor should they be thrown on the property, in the creek, or fire pit. All butts must be discarded in the ashtrays in the patio area.

Two (2) guests are the maximum number permitted at the cottage.

Due to allergy concerns, this is not a pet friendly cottage.

Price is inclusive of county and city bed tax.

Neighborhood highlights

Steps away from historic downtown Geneva, the Creekside Corner Cottage is across from a park that has tennis courts (you may borrow our 2 racquets and balls during your stay). Please note that at times this park can be busy, as there is a youth football stadium located there.

If you are like us, and love to walk the neighborhood you are staying in, you will find a mixture of homes, including many historic century-old homes that are scattered throughout the downtown area. There are also several antique stores within the downtown area. A few great places for breakfast that can be walkable: Honeybees, Mary’s Diner, and Scribbler’s Coffee. Old Mill Winery is about a half mile away.
