Neighborhood highlights

Berwick-upon-Tweed, England's most northerly town is an ideal base for exploring historic, beautiful Northumberland with its wild unspoiled beaches and castles and across the border to explore the Scottish villages, towns, historic abbeys and rivers. Further inland you have the wild, remote Cheviots hills for walking, mountain biking and dark skies for star gazing.

Spittal's family friendly, sandy beach and promenade has far reaching views down to both Lindisfarne and Bamburgh castles as well as frequent sightings of dolphins and seals as well as more recently Minke whales. There are regular boat trips to see the dolphins and up the Tweed to Paxton.

Spittal is a short walk from Berwick with its Elizabethan historic walls, Maltings art gallery, bars, restaurants, pier and lighthouse as well as the Lowry trail.

Alternatively it is only a short 45 minute train journey to both Edinburgh or Newcastle to explore further afield.
