Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Perched above Park Beach with front‑row views of Frederick Henry Bay, this 70’s surf shack has been softened by decades of sea breeze, sunshine and stories. It’s simple, soulful, and wrapped in the kind of calm you only find by the water.

Using the shack as your base, no matter which direction you choose to venture, there’s an array of experiences and activities to explore, 20 min to Hobart Airport, 40 min to Hobart, gateway to Richmond, East Coast, Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula.

The space
Inside, the shack has all the essentials , cosy textures, thoughtful touches and spaces shaped for slow living. Sink into soft 100% linen, breathe in the sea breeze, and end the day with a soak in Lola, our pink outdoor bath under the stars.

Slip out the door and wander down to Park Beach or the old boat sheds at Red Ochre. Wiggle your toes in the sand, watch for whales from Spectacle Point, or grab a board and a wettie from the shack and chase a wave at the Mecca Bowl.

Our little pocket of the coast is relaxed, friendly and quietly beautiful, with everything you need for slow, salty living close at hand. We can also point you toward local massage, facials and fashion if you feel like treating yourself.

Hill Street Grocer is just down the road for gourmet bits, fresh produce and easy dinner inspiration. Park Beach Café serves breezy brunches, and Beach Bums Café is perfect for that post walk coffee.

You’ll also find a great local butcher, bakery, pharmacy and pub. If you need a bigger shop, it’s only a quick 15‑minute drive to the “big smoke” for Coles and Woolworths.

Cliff Top on Park is perfect for solo wanderers, lovers, friends

Neighborhood highlights

Dodges Ferry is a quiet beach side village and a great base to access the many attractions and adventures around the South and South East of Tasmania. Take the 15 minute coastal drive to Dunalley and experience local seafood at the fish market on the canal or local seafood at Bangor Wine and Oyster shed. Head down for a day trip to the Tasman Peninsula, starting at Eaglehawk Neck.

The local village provides a Hill Street grocer, butcher, bakery, bottle shop, tavern, takeaway shop, chemist, Doctors, newsagent, post office and hairdressers. Park Beach Cafe is a must visit, great coffee and food! Look for the blue sign opposite the entry to Park Beach.

Petrol is available at the Hill Street Grocer with 91 or 95 octane fuel. It is a 15 minute drive to Sorell, regarded as the main portal to the Tasman Peninsula and surrounding areas. Sorell has a range of cafes, restaurants, petrol stations, bottle shops and two larger supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths.
