Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Relax in our minimalist cabin in the woods. Read a book, lay in the hammock, sit by the fire, or just stare up into the trees. With fiber optic wifi if you need to stay connected! We have 30 acres to walk on, are close to hiking and biking trails, and Beaver Lake is a 5 minute drive. The cabin is nearby to all the greater Thunder Bay/Alpena area. Explore Northern Michigan year round! Of note: the 3/4 bathroom is connected to the cabin, but accessed from outside the cabin.

The space
Step away from your regular life, take a deep breath, and relax. Our small cabin in the woods is disconnected so you can connect with your family, friends or a good book. There is wifi, but do you really want to use it?Enjoy a campfire, lounging in the loft net hammock, or explore a nearby trail. Minimalistic setup but everything you need! King-size bed, kitchen and no neighbors. The sofa can be made as a twin or second king bed. There is a small charcoal grill you can use, but we don't provide charcoal. Firewood for the ring, is provided. Enjoy!

Guest access
The full cabin is yours. It sits on 2 acres in the middle of standing forest. Walking trails are available on our adjacent property, but please stay off of our neighbors private property. Let us know if you want directions to our trail.

Other things to note
There is no TV and very little cell service, but we do have fiber optic wifi! The nearest full grocery is 25 minutes away, in Alpena. Disconnect from everyday life and hike, paddle, sleep, bike, hammock, read and listen to the birds! The dirt road back to the cabin is a little rough, especially in winter. Last, the bathroom is accessed by going outside, though it is connected to the cabin.

Neighborhood highlights

It's a pretty quiet area. There is a neighborhood surrounding Beaver Lake, but otherwise, we're rather in the middle of nowhere. You can't see any other houses from the cabin, and since it's off a private road, there's no traffic at all. Short drive to Beaver Lake Park to access the lake or explore the many trails close by.
