Nestled within the Glen Helen Nature Preserve, Cedar Center Dorm is a classic camp-style dorm. It includes bunk beds in two separate wings as well a separate "teacher room". Cedar Center Dorm also has a common area, a kitchenette, bathrooms, showers, and a private outdoor fire pit. A natural, secluded location for your next retreat or family reunion, rental of this venue supports the Glen Helen Association.
The space
Cedar Center Dorm is a classic camp-style dorm that can sleep up to 40 guests. There are two wings with nine bunkbeds each that can sleep 18 guests in each wing. There is an additional "teacher room" with two bunkbeds that can sleep 4 guests. Contact me for groups larger than 16 people.
Cedar Center Dorm also has restroom and shower facilities, a common room, a kitchenette equipped with a water fountain, sink, microwave, and refrigerator, as well as a private outdoor fire pit. There five parking spaces available with additional parking nearby.
Cedar Center Dorm in located within the Outdoor Education Center campus at Glen Helen Nature Preserve. The Glen is the largest private nature preserve in the Miami Valley, anchoring the most scenic, most ecologically intact area in Southwest Ohio. Visitors can view spectacular wildflowers, 400 year-old trees, limestone cliffs with waterfalls and overhangs, and the beautiful yellow spring for which the town is named. Visitors are also encouraged to check out our Raptor Center, where we rehabilitate over 200 birds of prey per year and house ~20 non-releasable birds in outdoor enclosures viewable by a path around the building. The Glen also runs various nature themed programming all throughout the year.
The Outdoor Education Center is not open to the public. Appointments are required if you'd like to tour the venue or the grounds.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of the Cedar Center Dorm building and area immediately around the Center including the outdoor fire pit.
Other things to note
Larger Groups: For groups larger than 16 people, there will be a $30 fee for each additional person per night. Contact me for details on how to book.
Minimum Age to Rent: Renter must be at least 25 years of age.
Linens & Utensils: Renter is responsible for bringing all bedding, towels, washcloths, table linens, and utensils.
Firewood: Renter may bring firewood that originates from Greene County, OH only. Wood may be purchased on site for $20.00 per wheelbarrow full (approximately 25 pieces).
Damage & Incidentals: Renter is responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by the rental group.
