Park your car in the driveway, and set your keys aside. Enjoy beach views from the front porch, a beverage while rocking with ceiling fans to move the air. A 1 block walk to the beach, and short walks to restaurants, brew pubs, shops, marinas, even a tiki-bar. Time to start enjoying.
House is originally from 1910 but was renovated in 2019, and few more things in 2024. We are ready to welcome you to our our golf cart community with both historic charm and modern amenities.
The space
Colonial Beach is close to Dahlgren, VA and the Naval Support Facility, and we are military friendly rental. If you are attending a school/class for a longer period of time - please message me and I will work with the government per diem rate.
Charming cottage that has all the modern amenities wrapped into the original 1910 home. When you enter in, you will find a warm and comfortable living room ready to relax in.
From the living room you can head into the front bedroom (#2) or continue into the large kitchen, TV room, bathroom or the back bedroom (#1) /bathroom.
Bedroom #1 has a connected bathroom also has a sliding glass door to the fenced backyard.
Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms, each with a double/full bed along with a bonus twin bed.
I have tele-worked many times from our home - either from the kitchen table, or from the couch w/ a laptop desk. A large monitor is available to help you.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the amenities located at the cottage.
Visitor Policy: You are welcome to have a few (4 or fewer) friends and family visit during the day who are not staying at our home. Please contact us for approval if you wish to have more than 4 visitors at any time to the property (house or yard/premises).
If your friends bring a dog in the home, I'm sorry - but a pet fee will be charged. I love dogs, but they trigger higher cleaning fees.
Your rental does not authorize anyone to host a party of any kind. Your visitors during the day are not allowed to bathe/shower, sleep in an unused bed or otherwise make use of the home as a guest. If you allow this, you will be charged $25 per person per day.
As the booking guest, it is your responsibility to make your visitors aware of the House Rules and see that they follow them. Any unauthorized visitors that stay overnight will result in an additional charge $50 each per guest. This fee will be charged to the booking guest.
Other things to note
Backyard is fenced and the front yard is not. If you do bring a pet, there is a town ordinance where dogs must be leashed. Yard leads are available in front.
Tampering with the security camera (focused on front porch) is a violation of the house rules and your reservation will be terminated immediately. No refund will be given.

I've lived in Vienna, Denver, and Fairfax over the last 25+ years, before relocating to Colonial Beach full time in 2022, right around the corner from Red Roof Cottage. My family has enjoyed our time at Red Roof Cottage for the last 15+ years and we would now like to share it with you.
