The space
Casa Única is a private house, located in a mystical region of Nicaragua. As this natural paradise of Laguna de Apoyo is shared with us, we share it with you.
Casa Única was designed to offer our guests a sense of privacy and security while having all the excitement of the Laguna and its public beach just a few steps away. Chairs and hammocks everywhere so you don't have to do much when it's time to relax.
As the entire coastline of Nicaragua is public, the beach in front of the house is also public. We share it. So help us keep it clean, don't throw garbage on the beach, don't smoke inside the casitas, and ask us about the fee for your pet.
Guest access
Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, the garden of colours, the stargazing terraces, the folkloric BBQ (bring your charcoal or wood) with picnic table, the ranchito with hammocks and chairs, & kayaks!
Fenced parking space and internet all around the property. And it goes without saying, a direct access to the public beach of the lake!
We rent the Casita Mango with A/C included.
We offer a full typical breakfast for 7.50$ per guest, request it once you’ve book!
You can also ask about massages, we know therapists that can come home for you.
Other things to note
The Casita Mango is for MAXIMUM 5 PERSONS.
We accept pet on the property with a small fee of 7.50$
If you come by taxi or car, please note the last kilometer is a dirt road. You can reach easily with care as we are located before the hill that goes down to the public beach and the road is easily ridable, with care. Low speed does it.
Please be prepared and come with groceries directly from the moment of your check-in, especially if you are on foot or are coming late after dark.
The reason is that that there is no food store close by and last call for restaurant is 7h PM.
You will need to go all the way to the other side of the crater to find small markets to buy milk, bread, meat, fruits and vegetables. That is around 1 hour away on foot or 15 minutes by car. And at night can be hard to find a place open.
A/C is included in the Casita Café
We offer breakfast for 7.50 US$ per person
Apart from breakfast, we do not have food service, you have in your cabin a fully equipped kitchen, simply make sure to bring all the food to be comfortable during your stay. There are 2 restaurants option closeby. One walking distance, one delivery!
There is delivery service available from one of the restaurant, they charge 100 córdobas for delivery.
There is a restaurant 150 meters from us, the last call for dinner is 7h00 pm. Open all day of the week!
Some restaurants on the north side of the Laguna (far far away on foot. 10 minutes away in car) are open until 7h30 PM, but again don’t be surprise if they close earlier during the week or low season.
The Laguna de Apoyo is a different type of environment that mostly lives when the sun is up. As soon as the sun goes down, service also goes down!
So come prepared, especially if you came by taxi or bus. Night comes early around 6h pm year round and you will need your essentials with you to have an enjoyable stay.
Other than your own kitchen, you can also cook on our BBQ, bring your charcoal to enjoy a nice cookout.
We’ll supply drinkable water, tap water is super clean but we do not drink it.
Typically, we will change towels every 3 days and sheets every 5 days. We try to respect the environment and reduce consumption, your help with that mission is appreciated.
Please throw all dirrty toilet paper in the trash, not in the toilet.
We can provide laundry services (5$ per load).
There are lots of birds and wildlife around, make sure to bring your camera/binoculars to snap a few good shoots!
Bring your hiking boots and enjoy the trails nearby, the views and petroglyphs are totally worth it.
