Guests praise Kea and Rudy for going above and beyond with welcome treats and quick responses
Lots of love went into renovating this cozy three bedroom 19th century home both inside and out. The interior is cozy with modern decor and is centrally located but in a quiet neighborhood. There is a living room, eating space, full kitchen, a washer/dryer combo unit, and three bedrooms. One bedroom is set up as an office with a futon so it can be used as a bedroom or as an office depending on your needs. The other two rooms have queen beds and TVs!

The space
There are three bedrooms, two of which have queen size beds with flatscreen smart TVs. One bedroom is also set up as an office with a futon for which bedding is provided.
There is a full (but very small) bathroom with a tub/shower.
The kitchen has a full size fridge/freezer, full size stove/oven, double bowl sink, microwave, toaster, and Keurig. There is also a large washer/dryer laundry unit in the kitchen. There is a pantry with shelving for storage as well as ample space in the cupboards. We provide pots, pans, and dishes.
The living room is cozy with a small couch, love seat, TV, and table with chairs.
There is an outdoor patio space to the side of the house and a patio out front.
There is a driveway with two parking spaces at the top, one is for you to park in and the other is for the back house.
This property is unique in that it is two houses on one lot. Your unit is the front of the two houses. We also rent out the back house separately.
🐶 This house is pet friendly and we have hosted folks with cats and dogs. While we carpet clean, vacuum, mop, and thoroughly clean after these furry friends’ visits, we would caution anyone with severe allergies against staying here.
Guest access
You have access to the full 3 bedroom house at the front of the property. The side patio area is fully accessible to you and the parking space at the top of the driveway is yours too.
There is a trap door basement. This space is completely off limits to guests except in case of severe storms.
Other things to note
As previously mentioned, our property has two separate houses on it and this listing is for only the front house. The back house is also rented out separately on Airbnb.
This is an urban neighborhood near the downtown capital area. While most of the time the area is quiet and uneventful, there are occasional “sketchy characters” that walk down the street. We’ve never had anyone attempt to harm a guest or break into the property. We post this so that single female travelers or families with kids to have as much info and context before booking for a long term stay. There is parking on the driveway right outside the home’s door and parking there should eliminate 99% of any chance to encounter a sketchy person on the street.

Neighborhood highlights
Located between St Paul’s oldest and largest cemetery on one end of the block and a pallet packaging company & I-35E on the other, there isn’t much through traffic around here, so it stays pretty quiet! The St. Paul regional airport is nearby, so you will hear helicopters and planes landing occasionally.
This is an urban neighborhood near downtown St. Paul, not the suburbs. While most of the time the area is quiet and uneventful, there are occasional “sketchy characters” that walk down the street. In the spirit of full transparency, we once had a homeless man follow our guests up the driveway. While this was a very unusual situation, we can’t control who walks through the neighborhood so please be aware of your surroundings. We’ve never had anyone attempt to harm a guest or break into the property. We post this so that single female travelers or families with kids to have as much info and context before booking for a long term stay.
We have met all of the immediately surrounding neighbors, and they are kind people, and we have no safety concerns with them. As with any neighborhood with houses in close proximity, you may hear neighbors playing music and talking while outdoors. We are conveniently located close to downtown St. Paul and other great areas, but this neighborhood is not the cutest. :) If you would like to look up the street view or more specific neighborhood info, feel free to message us and we will give you the specific address.
Our location is not walkable but is within 5-10 minutes drive of several neighborhoods with a lot of popular restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries, coffee shops, live music venues, and more. Use our cozy space as a launchpad to explore St. Paul’s many events and the popular food and drink scene.

My work: Videography
We are Kealani & Rudy, an easy-going, adventure-loving couple from Saint Paul. We love anything that gets us outside exploring whether that’s mountain biking, hiking, ice skating, or canoeing.
We live with our cats in an old house in a historic neighborhood that we absolutely adore. We love playing games and drinking German or Belgian style beers… bonus points if we can do both things on a patio on a beautiful day.
We are also a husband-wife wedding videography team. We love to explore different cultures & traditions, meet new people, and try new things!
