The Casa Adega property comprises two standalone stone cottages; a main cottage and a separate converted 2-300 year old Adega. Each building has been recently renovated and sits in an idyllic location amongst the olive groves in the small town of Cumes, Chãos.
Casa Adega is LGBTQ-friendly and is proud to welcome all guests.
The space
Adega cottage has been recently renovated from a 300 year old derelict wine and olive processing mill into comfortable rustic accomodation, retaining the character and charm of a bygone era. The old stone walls and adega have been restored and integrated into a modern living space, offering a well equipped kitchen, modern shower room, double bedroom, cosy sitting room with woodburner for those chilly nights. The kitchen area is a traditional 'Portuguese kitchen', providing a fantastic experience to cook in a wood-fired brick oven and barbeque area. However, there is also a conventional oven, modern cooking facilities and a fridge freezer for convenience. Enjoy a walk through our olive groves and help yourself to the available fruits, figs, lemons, oranges and persimmons.
Outside the cottage there is a private patio and garden to enjoy a glass of wine or a morning coffee. The cottage also provides bed linen, towels and washing machine facilities.
The main cottage has Starlink internet installed providing speeds of up to 250MBps.
Guest access
Guests will have private access to the olive groves and wild flower fields. There are numerous countryside walks of different lengths and difficulties surrounding the cottage.
The centre of Portugal is subject to fire restrictions, due to the risk of bushfires. From June 1 to 30 September, open flames are prohibited within the property in line with local laws, other than from the stove top and the use of the pizza oven is restricted throughout the year. The house and gardens are a no smoking area.
Other things to note
Identification documents are required to be provided before bookings, in accordance with Portugal's Alojamento Local requirements. This can be done securely through the Airbnb messaging system and documents are held only for this purpose.

Where you’ll be
Santarém, Portugal
We love the sunny warm climate and the rural location in the heart of 'real Portugal'. We enjoy the traditional way of living and beautiful natural landscape surrounding the cottage. The central region is an undiscovered area of Portugal, away from the tourist resorts and crowds.
