The Cardinal Getaway is nestled in the heart of downtown Pilot Mtn. You can overlook local events from the patio or windows. You can walk to local shops and restaurants. If it's the outdoors, you crave you are just minutes away from the iconic Pilot Mountain as well as other outdoor activities. You will be staying in a historic building that has been renovated into a beautiful two-bedroom loft style apartment. It has a full bath, living room, kitchen, dining, laundry & new Mattress as of 2025.

The space
The Cardinal is in the top floor of one of the oldest buildings in downtown Pilot Mtn. When you enter the unit, you will walk into an open living, dinning and kitchen space. The living room is simple and roomy with a view of downtown main street as well as Pilot Mountain. The open floor plan gives the unit a loft feel. In the back you will two private bedrooms with their own closet and mini splits in each room. Full bathroom with shower is located off the living room. Laundry closet with washer and dryer is in the kitchen area.

Guest access
The Cardinal Getaway has a private entrance just off of Main Street. The entrance is at the top of a grated staircase that leads you from the street up the side of our building. The door has a touch keypad which you will receive a code to unlock the morning of your check in. There is a security camera on the side of our building that shows the entrances to this unit and the one we have below. It also sees the parking lot and side street.

Other things to note
New Mattress as of March 2025. Serta Perfect Sleeper.

Please look at the photos and take note of the staircase to enter the loft. It is a two flight, grated, metal staircase. The unit looks like images there is not any additional spaces or furnishings. Also note from the photos that you are staying directly on the Main St in downtown. You will be able to hear music from local shops as well as the town. (Business close down around 10pm unless events are being held.) Events are held on the street the building sits on. There are two security cameras on the outside of this unit. One shows us the alleyway and outside entrance to this unit. The other shows us the parking lot.

Neighborhood highlights

This location is on main street in downtown Pilot Mountain. Town hall is across the street for information about the area and local events. Parking is in the back of the building, but you can also park on Main street for free. There are plenty of local shops, within walking distance. There is a grocery store, places to eat, outdoor activities, and winery within a few minutes from this location.

Pilot Mtn was my hometown growing up. I moved 30mins away to be closer to the city of Winston but found myself back in Pilot working with my mom in her real estate business. We have tacked on the Airbnb's and I have become very interested in tourism in the area and have enjoyed growing with it.
