Posada Bosque Encantado is a peaceful garden guesthouse in central San Marcos La Laguna, rooted in Mayan tradition. Built with adobe, stone, and local wood, the space reflects ancestral building practices with modern comfort. Steps from the lake, yoga, cafés, and the nature reserve, it offers a quiet, authentic stay immersed in local culture and nature.

The space
Each room has a private bathroom with its own instant hot water heater to give you a satisfying hot shower. We now offer use of our shared kitchen for onsite cooking. There is a loft in three of our rooms, two with an additional single mattress over a mat on the floor, and one of the lofts has a double. There are hammocks outside of the rooms.

We have just finished replacing the roof, so the space is guaranteed completely dry during the rainy season.

Please note that we offer a total of three separately rented rooms in the Guesthouse. . You will be directed to see the other two rooms if this one is already reserved, as well as reviews of previous guests.

I am a youthful woman in her 70’s who has lived 30 years in San marcos La Laguna. I am a singer songwriter, and play guitar and flute. I have a three room Inn in San Marcos which is a small Mayan village on the shores of Lake Atitlan. I am happy to share music. I am fluent in Spanish. The village I live in has integrated a new age community of foreigners. I enjoy meeting new people, and I am sure you will enjoy meeting me!
