The space
This exquisite 7-bedroom house sleeps 20 - with an extra cost of $50 per person per day for every person over 16.

The house was totally renovated in 2020 with comfort and beauty in mind and epitomizes modern country comfort.

Ground Floor: The ground floor, designed for entertaining large groups, also has a wheel chair accessible bedroom and bathroom.

- Fully-equipped chef's kitchen, multiple ovens and stove-tops and plenty of pots/pans/cooking utensils.

- Dining room has a 12-foot dining table which seats 18 people easily.

- The large, sun filled, elegantly decorated living room has chandeliers, two leather sofas, comfy chairs, a large TV, and games for entertainment.

- Two modern bathrooms (one full, one half) on the first floor.

- Wheel-chair accessible bedroom and bathroom, with a walk in shower.

Second Floor:

On the second floor there are six bedrooms, two full baths, and a half bath.

Third Floor:

The third floor boasts an enormous lounge area with sectional couches, a daybed with a pull-out trundle, a large television, games, and bookshelves stocked with books for children and adults.

Basement:

The basement is equipped with a washer and dryer.

Front porch:

The spacious wraparound porch has a 10-foot dining table and sitting areas with a couch, chairs, a swing chair, and benches, all with views of the expansive 100-foot front and side lawns. Heaven for summer days with friends and family!

Deck:

Out back there is a 15-foot deck with lounge chairs and an outdoor ping pong table. The deck has a ramp for wheelchair access to the first floor. The deck overlooks an outdoor grill for bar-b-ques and a fire pit area, ideal for evening bonfires, s'mores, and watching the stars at night.

Local Religious Establishments:

In the summer there are Orthodox synagogues within 1/2 mile walking distance. There is also a synagogue in town, approximately 1.5 miles away. The town of Woodburn, which is less than five miles away, features several large kosher supermarkets and stores.

What to Do:

The Catskills offer a slice of outdoor heaven. Just half a mile down the road lies our family farm, home to sheep, a goat, donkeys, horses, and chickens that guests are welcome to feed. Adjacent to our home is a field brimming with blueberry bushes; come July, visitors are invited to pick these wild, succulent berries to their heart's content. Our property includes over 300 acres of woods crisscrossed by multiple hiking trails.

There is so much to do in the area.

Biking: The country roads in the area are perfect for bike riding (but very hilly).
Swimming and Pickleball: There is an outdoor community pool in the town park 1 mile from the house, and beautiful new free pickleball and basket ball courts in town.

Hiking: There is world class hiking in the Shawangunk Mountains is just 1/2 hour away. The Neversink Gorge Trails, just 20 minutes away, feature 3 waterfalls along the Neversink River, with hiking trails of varying difficulty. The ice caves at Sam's Point are a unique geological formation.
Hike the trails at the Basha Kill wetlands and see eagles.

Fishing: Many local streams are stocked in the spring with trout for fishing. (NYS fishing licenses are required, can be done online).

Golf: Resorts World Catskills Monster Golf Club, the Wallkill Golf Club, the Tarry Brae Golf Course, the Sullivan County Golf Club, the Shawagunk Golf Course, and more, are open to the public.

Boats: There are mountain lakes nearby, such as Morningside Lake in Fallsburg (which rents paddle boats and row boats and also has a new community pool), or Starlight Marina in Monticello (which rents speedboats and platoon boats). Loch Sheldrake Boat rentals rents row boats, kayaks, paddle boats, and motorized rafts.

Outdoor Activities for Kids: Legoland Theme Park is 45 minutes away. The Castle in Chester (45 minutes away) has laser tag, go karts, baseball hitting cages, roller skating, mini golf, a rock wall, and more. Kelder's Farm has picking fields with vegetables and berries and pumpkins in season, a jump pad for kids, a petting zoo, a playground, mini golf, outdoor games, apple picking, and a corn maze in the fall.

Indoor Activities: If you tire of nature, Legoland, the Katrite Water Park (NY's largest indoor water park), Urban Air Adventures Trampoline Park, are all just1/2 hour away, while Woodbury Commons, with hundreds of outlet stores, is 45 minutes away.

Nightlife: Resorts World Casino is 1/2 hour away in Monticello. The town of Mountaindale has live music on weekends, an outdoor bar and restaurant by the creek, the best pizza in upstate NY (per our teenagers), and a middle eastern restaurant. There are many restaurants in Ellenville (20 minutes away) and Monticello (1/2 hour away). Bethel Woods (45 minutes away) has first class bands and concerts throughout the summer, the Forestburgh Playhouse in Forestburgh has musicals and performers in its bar, while Shadowland Stages in Ellenville has plays.

Winery: The Bashakill Winery offers winetasting on weekends.

Neighborhood highlights

This house is located on a country road. It is a great place for walking or bike riding.

The nearby town, Mountaindale, is 2 miles away. It has several bars and restaurants, including The Dale, a fantastic pizza restaurant and bar, and High Voltage, which has a hip creek side bar and restaurant. Both have live music on weekends and the Dale has open mike nights Thursday nights. Mountaindale also has a wine and liquor store, a cheese and gourmet food store, a deli and small grocery shop, and several small shops.

A larger town, Ellenville, is 20 minutes away. Ellenville has lots of restaurants, theater, supermarkets and Walmart. Aroma Thyme Bistro is a delicious organic farm to table restaurant, which has live jazz on Thursday nights. And be sure to visit Cohen's Bakery and buy their Raisin Pumpernickel bread!

There are also Farmer's Markets for shopping. Rock Hill (20 minutes away) has a farmer's market every Saturday in June - September. Liberty 40 minutes away) has a farmer's market on Friday afternoons, June - September. Or, you can buy freshly butchered meat, or pick apples in the fall, at Majestic Farm.

There is great hiking in the Shawangunk Mountains is just 1/2 hour away at Sam's Point, where you can climb to the peaks, which affords broad views extending from the Hudson Highlands in the southeast, or hike down to the ice caves. Minnewaska State Preserve has numerous waterfalls, a lake to swim in, and beautiful trails, ranging from easy trails to challenging ones.

If you are really adventurous, try hand gliding at Mountain Wings Hang Gliding in the Shawangunk Mountains.

You can swim in a bunch of locations including an outdoor community pool and a lake in the Mountaindale town park 1/2 mile from the house, a community pool at Morningside Lake in Fallsburg, and Lake Superior Park, which has a lake with a beach, in Bethel.

Some fun things to do with young kids outdoors include Kedler's Farm in Kerhonkson, where they have miniature golf, animals, tractor ride, bouncy ball, amazing corn maze, basketball hoop, and you can pick your own vegetables and fruits. The Castle Fun Center on Route 17, where there are both indoor and outdoor things like miniature golf, go-carts, laser tags, roller skating, and video games. The newly opened Legoland is 40 minutes away in Goshen, NY., and it has amusements and an outdoor water park.

Braden Brook Stables, just two miles away, provides safe horseback rides through scenic country trails wind through streams, fields and a lush pine forest.

Many local streams allow public fishing. You can obtain a fishing license online at the DEC site.

You can rent boats at Morningside Lake in Fallsburg (paddle boats and row boats), or Starlight Marina in Monticello (platoon boats).

Public golf courses are plentiful including the Sullivan County Gold and Country Club in Liberty, the Twin Village Golf and Winter Park in Roscoe, the Villa Roma Resort in Calicoon,

On a rainy day, you can take the kids to the Liberty Heights Trampoline and Adventure Center (40 minutes away), the Urban Air Adventure Park in Middletown (30 minutes away), movies in Middletown, or the Kartrite Water Park (NY's largest indoor water park).

Adults on rainy days can go to the Resorts World Casino in Monticello, just1/2 hour away, or can shop for bargains at Woodbury Commons, with hundreds of outlet stores, (45 minutes away).

Bethel Woods (45 minutes away) has concerts and festivals throughout the summer and fall.

There are musicals at Forestburgh Playhouse, including shows for young people, and concerts and comedy shows at the Forestburgh Tavern. There are also high quality plays at the Shadowland Theater in Ellenville.

In the winter, there is a small mountain nearby, Holiday Mountain, for sledding and beginner skiing and there are smaller hills in the neighborhood for sledding.
